PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Confidential
Senior Programmer Analyst
Responsibilities:
- I am employed by a contracting house called Interactive Business Systems. working for Confidential (CFC) in Fairfield, OH.
- I am primarily assigned to analyzing and documenting the existing legacy IBM mainframe regulatory reporting infrastructure pursuant to modernization. CFC submits information to the Insurance Service Organization (ISO) for regulatory compliance in a variety of jurisdictions.
- My analysis is being used to rewrite the legacy ISO process using an IBL ETL process called Data Stage. My analysis will provide ETL and web developer’s specification content for rewriting the existing regulatory reporting system.
- At the client’s request I prototyped a method of documenting legacy batch IBM mainframe process logic by tableizing logic in excel spreadsheets.
- This allows developers rewriting the systems to extract and load the logical content expressed in a tableized format exported from excel spreadsheets.

Senior Programmer Analyst/Developer
Responsibilities:
- I was employed by a contracting house called Pyramid Consulting. working for Confidential & Confidential of South Carolina on maintenance of the United States Confidential ’s BCBS health care system called TriCare.
- This is a maintenance and enhancement position of a CICS MQ Series transaction processing system written in CICS/COBOL. The first 2 months on board at BCBS SC I was working on a security clearance process to receive Federal C2 Secret clearance necessary to be able to work on TriCare with access to US Confidential personnel production medical insurance data. BCBS SC has been training me in their infrastructure and change control processes and protocols.
- Hence, I am only now beginning to receive assignments regarding maintenance and modification to the TriCare system. TriCare has 10 subsystems which sequentially handle TriCare BCBS Claims. These subsystems are numbered 01 through 10.
- The team of which I am a part handles subsystems 05 through 07. 05 is the data acquisition portion of claim processing which derives and assembles Claim data. 06 is Benefit Determination which handles qualifying a Claim’s payable details. 07 is Provider Pricing which determines what BCBS TriCare will actually pay given all of the Claim’s parameters. TriCare is an old CICS DB2 green screen system. The green screens themselves rarely change but the underlying health care procedures, products, various codes, etc. and related program logic changes continuously.

Senior Programmer Analyst/Developer
Responsibilities:
- I was employed by a contracting house out of Chicago called Deegit, Inc. working Subcontractor for CSC in Confidential Company. The legacy Policy system was a COBOL batch application.
- I developed and tested Duck Creek DB2 updates to 3 different pieces of the legacy batch infrastructure called Casualty Agent Loss Ratio, G A Flex and State and County Property Reporting.
- This was part an overall effort to convert the legacy COBOL Adabas Property and Casualty Insurance system from Adabas to the new Duck Creek database developed in DB2. Without going into the functional details of what these processes are, the essence of the changes I made and tested had to do with deriving policy dat, more specifically policy holder information like name and address, from Duck Creek rather than the legacy database.
- Confidential ’s Property Policy system resides on Adabas, the old DB2 database called Next Star and a new Duck Creek DB2 database. So the essence of the work I did had to do with Farmers striving to modernize off of Adabas.
- I developed miscellaneous logical processes to support testing for other Subject Matter Experts and also studied and documented portions of the policy infrastructure which current personnel did not understand, as was needed. Originally I was brought in to work as a Subject Matter Expert resolving DB2 data errors in the current Farmer’s Policy System called Next Star. The need for me to work as a supplemental developer in the Duck Creek conversion effort superseded my working as a Next Star DB2 database analyst.
