- New Security Standards, Database infrastructure and GUI for CardPro applications including Transit application:
- Security Database should be created and maintained to be used by all Card Pro applications.
- Applications should interrogate the user’s Active Directory group memberships to determine the appropriate service account under which to execute and make any SQL database connections.
- The GUI will allow LAN Support to maintain the Security database from which applications obtain the User IDs and encrypted passwords. LAN Support will control the server, folder and file access for the user and service accounts though assigned permissions based on Active Directory Group membership.
- SQL server user login within the application will be based on the chosen service account using Security Support Provider Interface (SSPI).
- User/Service Account authorization within the application will be determined based on the current user/service account Active Directory memberships.
- Application Functions (Form display, menu item availability, data display or modification, etc.) for which access needs to be restricted to/for specific groups or individuals will be disabled during program start up and will be subsequently enabled based on the current user Active Directory group memberships.
- Pre-sort attributes (600 hours of effort for IDSW, 7 team members).
- The project allowed adding separate pre-sort attributes (billing) to separate pre-sort related fees from the postage fees, which resulted in transparent new contracts and client satisfaction.
- Automate Inserting (1150 of IDSW effort plus third-party vendor development, 8 team members).
- The project was initiated to combine and automate the bulk prep and inserting process for bulk orders.
