Technical PM

Responsibilities:

  • The Microsoft Azure Product Marketing team wanted to create a tool for the field sellers that would easily price compare specific AWS services to the competitively sized Azure services while talking to a (existing or potential) customer. I was asked to lead this project, while managing the Azure MI DataMart project.
  • Our team designed the Price comparison tool to run on Azure PaaS, with the Web App, the Web services and Azure SQL running in multiple Azure Regions
  • The (RESTful) web services were designed and built for the web app to use. However, we also designed it so other teams within Microsoft could consume. This is the one place where Live, up to the hour pricing is stored along with specific Instance Size mapping of Azure to AWS web services. Worked closely with the Azure Market Intelligence team to get access to the hourly collection of Cloud Pricing (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Amazon AWS)
  • I Also worked closely with the Azure Business Planners to build a tool that easily compares cloud service offerings between Azure Cloud Services and the competitors
  • I was Responsible for all phases of this project
  • Captured all the requirements, produced all the requirement specifications, filled and managed backlog in TFS, conducted UAT sessions, and produced all the UI wireframes and mock ups
  • This tool was successfully released to production about 5 months after I started capturing the requirements, greatly reducing the time needed to do an accurate price comparison of cloud services.
