Technical:
Lead engineer on numerous energy efficiency studies at higher education campuses throughout Southern California. Developed a computer program to calculate the anticipated annual energy usage of a building given a few weeks of energy usage data based on usage schedules and meteorological data. Lead software designer and software engineer on a real-time advertisement server for use with embedded multimedia devices. Created a MATLAB computer program to model photon, electron, and phonon propagation through nanoscale to bulk scale material systems. My research led to an experimental research project at U.C. Berkeley whose primary goal is to test the predictions made by my computer model. My research in nanoscale thermal rectification was the focus of an invited 30 minute presentation at the Material Research Society Spring 2009 Conference in San Francisco, CA. Created a Labview program to automate experimental testing with a vacuum cryostat chamber which included a 24 pin chip connector. The program controlled the temperature of the vacuum chamber in addition to a function generator, voltage generator, and current generator, while taking measurements through thermocouples, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to gradually sweep voltages or currents are record the chip outputs. Awarded the Dean’s Distinguished Fellowship from U.C. Riverside. Leadership:
Project Manager on over a dozen energy efficiency studies for higher education campuses. Every study finished ahead of schedule, under budget, and saved the client on average 20 - 40% on their electricity bill, annually. Led the U.C. Riverside human powered vehicle competition team to its first ever top 10 finish in the nation as the Project Director in the 2006-2007 academic year. I coordinated the entire design process, which consisted of 8 sub-system design teams and 40 students. Founded and organized the first ever U.C. Riverside human powered vehicle competition team for the ASME Human Powered Vehicle national collegiate design competition in the 2005-2006 academic year. I served as a Design Team Leader, leading 4 separate sub-system design teams (seat, steering, safety, and fabrication). Founded and played for the U.C. Riverside hockey team as a starting defensemen for 4 years. I helped the team to 4 consecutive finishes as a top 25 team in the nation and 2 consecutive conference championships.
