The Customer uses the Issue Resolution portal to log the issues. GE is in the process of building Sealant source.com as a complete portal. The primary capabilities of the SealantSource.com include online ordering and Sealant Searcher. A Search Engine Sealant Searcher was developed which searches desired products, to view technical datasheets of the products, comparison of the different products and to check the availability of products. As part of the project an Extranet site www.inputsource.com has also been developed for the use of product managers in order to update and add the product information such as product specials for the running week in the sealant source database. The sealant source database is updated with the extranet data every night using a batch job run. This is achieved by a batch job was scheduled to run every night which reconciles the data in both Extranet and Intranet sites.
