IT Architect/IT Manager

Currently, Manager Production Support and Production Environment, direct responsibility for Compliance and Audit for PCI-DSS and PII data. One of two with direct responsibility to review and approve any submitted Change Request. Additionally manage a staff of 20 resources of full time employees and contractors, both onshore and offshore to provide 24x7 on shift response. Divided the team into two teams to support incident response and development to resolve identified bugs. IT Architect for the PrePaid Open Loop / Solspark Money Network platform. Responsible for defining the go forward architecture to support an HA Visa/MC branded prepaid debit card/payroll card program. Participate in meetings with all areas of the company to determine best practice solutions to technology problems.

Provide on call support, work with incident management, network operations, production support team, and development troubleshooting flagged incidents. Received this task with about 7 months of work left and about 5 months of real time to complete. I employed an Agile process to ensure I knew daily progress, learned of road blocks to remove, and kept everyone engaged to beat the clock. We did and did so without experiencing a single production incident to respond to from early November through January the following year. This was a total success and a full team win.

Managing Production Support efforts, task is to analyze past tickets for issues that affected multiple client facing products to determine chronic issues. Oversee the process and set standards for monitoring tickets, updating tickets, and review resolutions. Coordinate with onshore and offshore resources to ensure timely and accurate response to issues raised by clients. Developed a research and analysis tool in vb.net to extract data from SQLServer.

Managed project to install and implement new product purchased for inventory management. This is a 100,000 software purchase to support the 75,000,000 business segment. Required coordinating across several business units to accomplish server installation, firewall access, server access, database access, and installation and configuration of the third party COTS product.

Technical Lead on a project to migrate customers from one Gift Card application to the preferred platform. Managing the final reporting and final balance reconciliation. Supporting the platform beyond the sunset date to provide any contractual obligations to clients that chose not to migrate. I accomplished this by extracting data from SQLServer and formatting, encrypting and sending to appropriate individuals.

Technical Project Manager to replace 15 servers on a mission critical application, responsible for scheduling the order, delivery, build, install and testing as well as the implementation of production, QA, test, and DR systems in New York, Colorado, and Maryland. This was accomplished with no impact to customers, no downtime.

Using JReport to extract and present data to the Business Unit and Finance, as part of the Gift Card Ordering project, including financial reporting, order status reporting, supplier performance reporting.

Managing IT projects associated with mission critical applications, leading a task force to identify and purge data in mission critical Oracle database, and identify data retention requirements.

IT Project Manager with responsibility for current and future phases of a 15 million dollar acquisition. As Project Manager, I am responsible for scheduling and leading Project and User meetings, reporting to immediate management on the status of the projects and obtaining Executive Management approval on project timelines. This is a transaction processing system for Loyalty/Rewards cards using ISO 8583 messaging standards.

Project Manager on a key database-cleansing project. Mitigating risk associated with the changes was a key goal during implementation. We were able to complete this project with a minimum of down time and client impact. It was necessary to move several extremely large tables from an oltp database. This was a very high-risk project, which improved performance and customer satisfaction.

I was assigned to a sister company within First Data Corporation to participate in the construction of a new Business Process Management application. This project required extended travel I was out of town for 9 months. This was a 3.5 million dollar project to automate, streamline, and track the progress and design of a Gift Card order. The application utilizes a new software platform, Savvion, to manage the design and order of millions of gift cards. As the technical lead on this project, I participated in the requirements definition and design of a phased process future phases include inventory management as well as automated fulfillment of orders. I met daily with the development organization to ensure there was no deliverable not completed. Preferring the Agile process over others we kept surprise interference out of the path to progress and were able to quickly react when changes were needed or redirection of effort was required.

Provided consulting services to move a database for inventory management to Oracle and coordinated the deployment of the Oracle client to workstations as well as ODBC definitions. Provided necessary help with the proof of concept and final deployment.

Responsible for the daily operation of a suite of development tools that programmers use to provide automation solutions for the company.

Working through this task by the time I completed the pilot application it was the delivered go forward app. Daily presentations to the target audience and feedback enabled the development of an application that covered all requirements, had zero defects, and required no rework.

Managed the pilot, purchase, installation and deployment of a 500,000.00 software project. Automated the install restricting users from accessing the product at any PC other than their own. Automated the process to rebuild the 75 different databases across the weekend. Developed the training curriculum to teach programmers and analyst on the tools to research 37 million lines of COBOL, ASSEMBLER and JCL, and eventually trained the trainers.
