• In this re-architecture project, Confidential ’s has moved in to the Micro Services Container based Solution which is hosted in Confidential Cloud Platform (VMs). Used the Confidential Compute Engine (PAAS) to deploy the Docker container with application code. In the first phase of release, product, catalog, search, inventory and price functionalities are migrated in Spring MVC based REST (micro) services.
• A No SQL Database is used to store the Catalog data as document object model since no transactional data involved. Redis cache is used to store the frequently accessed items like inventory, price etc. (uses in memory caching for key - value store). Apache Zookeeper is used for the Configuration (property) Management and Apache Kafka is used for messaging notifications.
• I have involved in the integration part of the Redis cache implementation and product catalog data migration from the Oracle Commerce (ATG) Databases. Also mongo database integration for the product service development.

• As part of this enhancement project there are multiple functionalities are implemented in the area of search and browse. A very important is that Confidential ’s site was made fully secure with HTTPS protocol to leverage the Akamai’s Http 2.0 Protocol support which helps multiplexing the connection over the client and server and which implicitly removes the need for domain sharding and image spiriting. Http 2 protocol not only makes page secure and improves the performance but also helps improve the SEO ranking (on the BOTs).
• Personalized Catalog experience has been implemented by integrating with big data systems. Based on the customer’s propensity data (purchase behavior) product set can be boosted with ranking to display on the top result.
• Also implemented the Akamai CCU Open API Cache purging techniques FAST Purge / FAST Invalidate. This API purges the page content caches within few seconds compared to earlier API version.
• Akamai ESI (Edge Side Include) functionality is implemented to support the advanced caching i.e. page blocks are cached independently instead of whole page response content and lately page blocks are assembled dynamically Confidential the edge server before serving back to client (browser).
• We had leveraged the Akamai Cloudlet functionality to implement the A/B testing feature in Confidential ’s in place of Omniture Test and Target (Client Side A/B framework).

• As part of initial ATG Re-platform, Oracle Endeca has been used as Search Engine to serve the customer search and catalog navigation request. Later we had implemented the Type Ahead Suggestions (keyword Suggestions displays when user type in characters) and Visual Type Ahead Suggestions (Top 3 Product preview suggestion displays for the user type in characters or selected term).
• Because Oracle Endeca is being proprietary and has limitation of a set of pre-defined search algorithms Only. Confidential moved to an Open Source Search Engine (Apache Solr), which is hosted over AWS ( Confidential Web Service) Cloud Platform.
• During this migration course, we had integrated the Apache Solr to the Oracle (ATG) Commerce through REST service and made available the functionality of search, catalog navigation and the Type Ahead Suggestions. This helped to implement the personalization feature in the Confidential ’ later releases.

Responsibilities:

• This project is an important milestone in the Confidential shipment delivery. Initially Confidential supported only standard Shipping to the customer’s shipping Address and later with this project provided an option for the customer to buy online and pick up Confidential the near by customer’s preferred store location.
• This functionality made available by Geo Targeting customer location based on the customer client IP address by setting default store option. Also customer provided option to change their preferred based on their zip code or address. Customer can browse the product catalog based on the availability of the store inventory with their preferred store and can add the item to the bag to pick up Confidential the store location.
• Customer has given facility to change the shipping group from BOPUS to Regular Confidential (Standard) any time before checkout place order.
