Responsibilities:
- A separate project included a technical upgrade from ECC 6 EHP 3 to EHP 8. SAP BW stayed on 7.3. Delivered several ECC 6 to S4HANA migrations. Most recent was to S4HANA 1709. Set out the project from object analysis to remediation and validation to all testing, cutover prep and cutover and go live.
- The purpose of the upgrade was to deliver on an prior S4HANA 1611 and Fiori enhanced functionality. Focus was logistics but had implications on simple finance from a prior HANA project.
- This has been repeated several times including an on premise and cloud implementations.
- Finance challenges included many table changes for specific groups and transaction changes including KExx, KBxx, KPxx and CJxx and new webdyn’s. There were technical legacy data migration changes as well. Client had multiple migrations occurring simultaneously by different groups and with different HANA releases.
- Responsibilities - Facilitate Change - to move the ownership of the SAP system's performance from IT to business, to get leadership to demonstrate commitment to change and work within the system. To get commitment and action to changing traditional habits and work within the system, rather than outside the system. Use of ADKAR method to accomplish these changes.

- Client challenges included a change to a new EDI service partner, interfaces to old systems that were no longer supported and retirement of legacy external systems and interfaces. This project had a highly aggressive timing with no available SMEs. This project also included multi-location rollouts occurring in short time bursts. Data was a major issue with this project, as well.
- We began an early evaluation / adoption of HANA. Selected financial data pools were moved to HANA out of ECC (Business Suite on HANA actually). My role was to manage the migration process. This primarily led to a simple finance implementation. Logistics data were also staged to work on supply chain optimization improvement by working MCxx and MDxx transactions that would normally be done via MC.9 on select materials (movers and shakers). This led to two other HANA implementations that went from on premise to hybrid.
- This project had multiple project managers that covered design / build, functional and data teams.
- Team Composition - Managed an experienced multinational techno-functional team consisting of 12 offshore and onsite ABAP developers, a variety of SAP functional SMEs for GTS, SD, MM, PP, eWM, and QM and a testing group.
