Purchase next-generation servers for development and testing of new versions of core products; Configure ILO server management authentication to use enterprise authentication (AD); deploy the current release of HP SIM.Sunset of 200 UNIX servers (~20%) wif OS versions older than N-3, and hardware versions greater than five years.1000+ servers across the Charlotte Production environment were rationalized and moved to a standard environment through server virtualization.
- Server Virtualization reduced the footprint in the environment, and associated support cost.Allow global policy changes from a central point in an expedited manor; Insure UID uniqueness, preventing accidental granting of access rights; Reduce administrative resources consumed to maintain the UNIX environments; Enable the UNIX servers to comply wif IT5135 Access Control Standard and IT5136 Corporate User ID Standard.
- Reviewed aging components and retired them from the current Citrix environment. The new components were incorporated into the standard design, review, optimization/rationalization, upgrade, replatforming, and consolidation. Savings were realized from reduction in physical infrastructure maintenance.
