eCommerce - Sports Life Franchise Consultant

  • This challenge involved the creation of an eCommerce Internet Business Solution for a local sporting goods and apparel startup company. The company had no store front and wanted to concentrate only on Internet traffic. The effort began with the creation of a marketing plan, product, supplier and software selection, domain registration, web hosting, website design and implementation including the loading of the eCommerce product data base. I implemented the architecture to support both business-to-business and business-to-consumer transaction processing including the use of Secure Socket Layer security technology during the checkout process utilizing PayPal software. I functioned in the role as Web Master in order to gain visibility with the leading search engines including, but not limited to, Google and Bing. The goal was to make the eCommerce site search engine friendly and in turn increase its ranking and visibility by utilizing 'natural' search results rather than paid inclusion. I created all supply chain management processes and procedures with the selected suppliers and incorporated the use of the QuickBooks software by Intuit for small business accounting and inventory management. The results achieved came in the form of being recognized by Google as one of the most popular websites based upon search 'hit' counts. As a result of the visibility on Google and the numerous links created on other internet directories and search engines a steady stream of customers found and purchased the products directly from the newly created eCommerce website.
