Role:Created an aggressive and phased delivery schedule for new seed environment. Co-ordinated with all the infrastructure teams involved to ensure delivery of all clusters on schedule for application on-boarding.
Results:Successful application migration to new servers in strategic data centers enabling decommission of servers in non-strategic data center.

Environment: NFS cluster hosting home directories of hundreds of critical trading production support teams and users.
Challenges:Zero-downtime requirement and bi-directional replicated hot-hot storage eliminating fork-lift option. Out-dated Solaris cluster making it difficult to find matching seed equipment and not enough time to migrate to Linux.
Role:Worked with decommission factory and design build teams to locate SUN V240s and build matching seed cluster on an aggressive schedule. Orchestrated a migration plan with the help of key infrastructure teams to migrate R1 and R2 storage devices on separate weekends to reduce risk and swing hot-hot storage to the new seed cluster.
Results:Successful migration to new infrastructure in strategic data center with no impact to business.

Challenges:Aggressive 3-month timeline had to be met so that system was 100% functional by LD1 (Legal Day 1) of merger. New corporate and technical environments, coupled with legal and regulatory prohibitions against the organizations seeing each others data beforehand, made the project even more difficult.
Role:Established production environment and setup of complete infrastructure, including separate servers at a contingency site with Wide-IP setup to allow for Disaster Recovery. Coordinated SA, DBA, SCM, Application, and Support groups and liaising between group leads and Senior Management.
Results:Met the “impossible” deadline, creating platform to support post-acquisition risk management.

SPEAR: High-visibility, FDIC-mandated project enabling regulators to easily view data from Merrill and Bank of America.
