As a key member of Merrill Lynch Transition Data Center Integration (DCI) team, responsible for Application and Server Migration from non-strategic to strategic data centers. DCI single point of contactfor three major business groups; Equities, Credit Market Risk Technology, Investment Banking.Collaboratewith Business and Technology teams to establish DCI scope / guidelines, perform infrastructure discovery and application dependency analysis, determine business requirements, identify migration strategies, negotiate schedules and provide ongoing coordination. Environment: NFS cluster hosting home directories of hundreds of critical trading production support teams and users.
Challenges:Zero-downtime requirement and bi-directional replicated hot-hot storage eliminating fork-lift option. Out-dated Solaris cluster making it difficult to find matching seed equipment and not enough time to migrate to Linux.
Role:Worked with decommission factory and design build teams to locate SUN V240s and build matching seed cluster on an aggressive schedule. Orchestrated a migration plan with the help of key infrastructure teams to migrate R1 and R2 storage devices on separate weekends to reduce risk and swing hot-hot storage to the new seed cluster.

Role:Established production environment and setup of complete infrastructure, including separate servers at a contingency site with Wide-IP setup to allow for Disaster Recovery. Coordinated SA, DBA, SCM, Application, and Support groups and liaising between group leads and Senior Management.
