  • Mid-South had the Ellucian ERP system, but with a Unidata database system. I performed a full migration of the entire system from the outdated Unidata to a SQL backend database system. While most colleges were doing this in 9 12 months with several IT, I accomplished this in less than 4 months.

  • I accomplished several projects while CIO at Phillips Community College. All were focused on better performance from the IT department, a better and smarter way of running the department, and finding new ways to better serve the students, the faculty, and the staff. I was responsible for the coordination and oversight of all operational and technology functions on the main campus and two branch campuses.   • The college consisted of a main campus and two branch campuses. The network topography did not allow for redundancy and had several bottlenecks between the campuses. All internet connections went through the main campus. I changed the entire topography allowing redundancy, giving each campus their own internet connection, and decreasing the bottlenecks for faster, more reliable internal connections.
  • Responsible for computer technicians, programming, and the entire WAN. The college was on a Novell system and various third-party applications. I moved the college to a full Microsoft platform including Domain Controllers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, ISA, SQL, NAS server. Duties included installation and management of all servers within the domain, group policies, Exchange email accounts, and internet access. Earned my Microsoft Certified System Engineer.

Intranet Programmer

I created the entire intranet from ground up. Before the intranet was written, carbon copy paper was used for all forms. The intranet allowed the college to move from the paper forms to electronic forms. This allows for better tracking and minimizes lost forms. The intranet calculates all leave balances monthly, allows leave forms to be submitted and routed to supervisors using a chain of command process, and includes a help desk system for pc technicians, student referral processing, minutes to be posted for viewing, enrollment counts, and roster printouts. It also includes an HR module for new hires and TR-1 forms travel reimbursements .
