Confidential needed a Program Manager to handle their Legal portfolio. Following projects are handled under Legal portfolio -

Project 1: Medicare Compliance Reporting
The objective of this project is to be compliant with Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007. Enhancements are needed in the existing Claims Management System (CMS.NET) to capture the required data elements for reporting to government. SCE is a NGHP (Non Group Health Plans) and must report its Workers Compensation liability claims to government starting second calendar quarter of 2012.

Project 2: eDiscovery
A program has been initiated to implement e-discovery (Electronic Discovery) in SCE. The program has been started to comply with rules and regulations pertaining to the discovery of electronic information in numerous legal jurisdictions including the Federal and California State courts. In order to meet the requirements of these rules, the company must be able to identify, preserve, collect, review, and produce electronic information in a legally defensible manner as specified in the regulations within the required deadlines.
The plan is to implement e-Discovery solution in a phased manner
Phase 1 Phase1 would implement Legal Hold part of EDRM (eDiscovery reference model). Legal hold is the process of placing a lock on any potential material information where it resides on the network and modifies file permissions so the file cannot be moved or deleted except by the Legal Hold Owner.
Phase II Phase II would implement remaining pieces of ERDM (other than Legal Hold)

Target date to complete the eDiscovery program is Oct 2012.

Project 3: WC Fileroom document migration
There are around 900 physical file claims (approximately 1mm pages) stored in law department. These files occupy a lot of real estate for storage and searching any claim record is also cumbersome. A new project has been started to scan all the physical files into searchable format and store them into a secure electronic format.
The scope of the project it to address the following:

  • Profile and scanning open claim physical files into Open Text library
  • Documents need to be fully searchable
  • The scanned document in Open Text library should only be accessible to Workers Compensation team

Project 4: iVOS Re-platform
iVOS application is used in Legal department for the last 2 years to support Workers compensation process in SCE. iVOS software is fundamentally unstable and SCE IT continues to struggle to support the application.
A new project has been started to explore different alternatives to re-platform iVOS system and come up with a recommendation. Later iVOS application would be re-platformed as per the solution approved by senior management.

Project 5: Edison.com CMS Replacement
Edison.com is Edison Internationals external facing website. The website is the primary public facing electronic medium for communicating the corporations profile, news media, investor information, community involvement, and environmental stewardship.
The content management system (CMS) that the website currently uses to manage and render content is outdated, failing and is no longer sufficient to meet client needs. Hence a new project has been started to change the content management system (CMS) and to host the website on an external hosting server

Hence a project was started to stabilize the existing Club VMI application and optimize the code.

American Express selected the IntelliSuite product from SunGard for Reconciliations process. IntelliSuite product has major two components i.e. IntelliMatch and Intellitracs. The IntelliMatch product consists of the matching engine for both automatic and manual matches. The Intellitracs product consists of the Research and Clearance modules, Notification, Escalation and creation of automated Journal entries.

Project 4: Card Incentive System
A standard practice in a Credit Card Companys relationships with corporate clients and business partners is to provide financial incentives. The incentive offering is often times the deciding factor between the various competing Corporate Card Companies. The ability to compete for card customers is becoming increasingly dependent on the American Expresss ability to provide tailored contracts and specialized support to corporate customers.
The support and processing of incentive payments is a function that historically has been performed manually in American Express without much standardization. Hence a project was started in American Express to standardize and automate the process of Card Incentive Settlement.
The current project was divided into 2 parallel sub projects phase 1.a and phase 1.b. While phase 1.a delivered the Profiling functionality (Contract setup related reports), phase 1.b delivered the actual incentive calculation functionality.

Project 3: Flight Data Acquisition and Analysis System
The Indian Air Force (IAF) needed to milk data from the MIG-29 aircraft FDR (M2T3 Type) after every sortie. The data is pre-processed at the time of milking to check for loss and bad data. Then Go/No Go Analysis is carried out after which the aircraft is cleared for the next sortie depending upon the outcome of the same. The data is further analysed to obtain the health and performance of the Aircraft and its Engine(s) and various other systems and components.
To fulfill the above tasks the IAF requires FDAAS for its various MIG-29 Squadrons. The project was done at TCS office in India. The implementation was carried out in various Indian Air force locations.
