Director
Responsibilities:
- We added 16 new Types of Assistance (TOA) codes to PLAS. Since many programs reference TOAs through copybook AUTSTFND, data name ASSTNC-TYPE, was updated to have its 88 levels reference the new TOAs. Our team also modified table structures, data, and programs that enabled the USDA to offer their very successful Microloan program, a low document, $35,000 maximum loan program.
- PLAS Extracts/ Data Mart Project - Led a team that designed and developed a series of extracts to pull data from an IDMS database on the mainframe into a format that would feed the USDA’s Oracle DataMart. This project consisted of 16 individual tasks. For each task, we were required to develop, test, and establish extract process for each specific data type on the mainframe. The team created these extracts using COBOL to mimic the original FOCUS logic enabling the FSA to eliminate the costs related to FOCUS. The team created a requirements worksheet for each extract using the Enterprise Metadata Repository (EMR) to establish the correct field names and definitions which the DBMO then used to define and establish the comparable tables in the Oracle Data Mart
