SCRUM Master

Responsibilities:

  • Managed on-site and offshore resources to successfully develop and implement a product cost management system. Whenever Caterpillar designs new machinery, the marketing department needs to know the cost of the end product so that the product is marketable. Typically, a new machine may have 80,000 or more parts in its bill of material. The design team uses information such as cost of the parts quoted by different vendors, quality of parts, historical pricing data from earlier machines, etc. in order to estimate the cost of manufacturing the new machine. They use different “What if?” scenarios to deliver the best possible design to meet the cost and quality requirements of the marketing team. The CMS application provides them with the ability to estimate the cost of manufacturing the new machine without making a prototype. CSM pulls the data from different databases to provide this information. Based on the estimates, the management can decide whether to go ahead with the design or shelve the project.
