Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Successfully migrated multiple enterprise applications to the Cloud using SaaS to provide optimized customer experience.
- Led initiative to harden security posture for critical applications. Working with the technical teams I led the effort to mitigate findings from initial penetration testing for 12 critical applications. Hardening was completed on time and with minimal negative impact to users.
- As part of a major effort to improve security posture I led the effort to implement 2 factor authentication (2FA) for privileged accounts using bastion hosts. This included setting up a dedicated support desk for 2FA issues and managing worldwide caching of tokens to minimize time to provide them to users.
- To provide a scalable solution for ordering and tracking systems, I created a requirements gathering and tracking site in Share Point which has shortened SLA’s and provided daily reporting on key performance indicators (KPI) and other metrics which improved throughput and customer satisfaction by aligning priorities.
- Managed upgrade of 120 Oracle databases with minimal impact to users of the applications supported by these databases.
- Managed upgrade to IE-11 for 22k users which required validating compatibility with more than 1,000 applications. Project was delivered with minimal negative impact and few support tickets.

- Based on my success with the portal project, I was asked to provide project management to a new microsite which supports the Demand Generation Board in marketing. This involves a microsite that provides a 360 view of campaigns starting with management objectives and ending with dashboards showing relevant results against those targets. A working proof of concept was completed in one month including requirements gathering and reaching consensus on content, design and business rules.
- Successfully negotiated required access to data with director responsible for corporate data. This was a challenge as much of the data is considered very sensitive and I had to work out access to relevant parts of data structures while avoiding those items not appropriate for the audience.
- Created training materials and delivered training on the new portal to a worldwide audience. Based on positive feedback to my VP I have been asked to create and deliver additional training.
- Created multiphase roadmap for 5 phases, each approximately three months long which has been accepted by management through the VP level. This allowed delivery of functionality while keeping focus on a long term integrated solution.

Responsibilities:
- Senior staff member who provided architectural support across teams including evaluating and selecting technologies required to support business requirements for the Marketing, Academy and Portal team.
- Engagement manager and architect for the HDS Learning Center, which supports both internal and external learners using Saba's LMS as the core. Achieved better than 99% system availability while reducing support and upgrade costs by converting from physical servers using heavily customized code to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) utilizing virtual servers and virtual storage. This freed up $250K of physical servers, which were repurposed. Use of SOA allowed eliminating 95% of customizations to purchased software, which significantly reduced upgrade costs.
- Led teams that created interfaces from Oracle HR, custom partner portal and Active Directory to automatically create, update and inactivate accounts in the LMS which reduced help tickets significantly.
- Managed team which evaluated and selected platform for internal and external communities. This included pilot installation of Saba Social and Jive SBS. Jive SBS was ultimately selected and I managed deployment of both on-premises and hosted instances as well as support of mobile devices. Using a global virtual team made up of Jive Professional Services, off-shore developers and internal resources developed an enhanced document system to manage publishing selected documents to the external community. The system was used to provide alternative delivery of educational materials and technical information.

- In order to provide meaningful information to executives and operational managers, I managed a global team that applied UCD principles to develop business intelligence tools including dashboards and web based reports using Business Objects and Oracle Business Intelligence, Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). This included design of schemas and ETL as well as overall architecture.
- As part of strategic initiative to standardize platforms, architected enterprise content management system based on Oracle Universal Content Manager (UCM) using User-Centered Design (UCD) models. This included designing enterprise taxonomy and security models to support all organizations as well as documenting integration with other systems and portals.
- I served as part of the business continuity and disaster recovery team (DR). I managed creation of DR plans for Marketing CRM, learning management systems and the enterprise community platforms. These plans were successfully utilized when a construction accident disabled the data center. All systems were brought up in the emergency data center within the target response time.
