Introduction:

  • At the end of 2007, I was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a Program Director within the IT Department. In an effort to trim the size of the organization, the company offered an early retirement incentive package to tenured employees and I accepted the package. I have since been selling Real Estate part time. Due to the current state of the economy, I have decided go back into full time employment.
  • In my former role, I was accountable to provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the successful corporate funding, prioritization, integration and implementation of business system capabilities for mission critical core business processes, including Health Care Claims Processing, Membership and Billing, National Systems Mandates, all federal and state regulatory mandates and the Corporate Compliance Programs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.
  • Over my forty year career, I have played both an operational and strategic leadership role in the successful implementation of several major corporate-wide initiatives. These were mission critical and required my extensive health care industry knowledge, technical expertise and demonstrated leadership skills, contract management and negotiating abilities. These initiatives included the Year 2000 Project, HIPAA-AS, the launching of a corporate subsidiary for HMO business, the initial implementation of a Corporate Program Management Office and the formation of the current corporate Portfolio Management Structure.
  • I have over thirty-eight years of integrated technical and business systems experience in the health care industry. I have held a variety of positions including Director of Service and Delivery Systems Portfolio, Director/Program Manager for the corporate-wide Year 2000 Project, Director of Regulatory Mandates and Compliance Program Office, Director of the HIPAA-AS Program Office, Director of the Information Technology Management Services Group and several technology-focused positions.
  • I also have leadership experience in customer support and service areas. At the Information Technology divisional level, I have led the strategic planning, IT education, process improvement and Budget/Reporting area.
