As the first User Experience hire in the division, I introduced best practices around user research and usability testing and defined the UX design process within development.
Redesigned a legacy product (Quantim) that had been acquired and was the basis of our Clintegrity 360 platform.
The first components to ship with the redesign were Computer Assisted Coding and Facility Coding products.
The numbers of screens were reduced; time on task lowered and readability was greatly improved as a result of the new UI.

Adjust team resourcing to accommodate high value initiatives, such as the successful bid for the Caltrans contract, while still delivering designs and specifications for the annual release.
Worked with the Confidential customer advisory council to define detailed requirements and user stories.

Environment:

Screen design lead for the Release 5 Mission Planning functional area of the DDG 1000, a highly automated Confidential destroyer.
Deliverables for the project included requirements, storyboards, screenshots, screen documentation, use cases and activity diagrams.
Designed and developed prototype screens for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle control centers for multiple new business initiatives.
Achieved certified Confidential Six Sigma Specialist status within six months and served as an advisor on two other qualifying projects.

Chapter Founder and President

Responsibilities:

Founded the chapter, the Association’s first local chapter, in March 2001.
Created and ran the first three “Mini-UPA” conference.
This one day event began with 150+ attendees and consisted of multiple tracks of presentations, tutorials and workshops.
I was responsible for securing corporate sponsorships and soliciting speakers for the event.
This conference was revenue generating from its first year and has grown to currently draw a crowd of over 900 people from a broad geographic region.
