Project Background

• TARABS Tata Accounts Receivable and Billing System is a proprietary TCS insurance billing product that caters to the requirements of small and large Insurance companies.
• The project involves the requirement gathering, analysis, design, development and testing of customizations to TARABS, installed in client, a primary medical professional liability insurer, to cater to its billing needs.
• TARABS has both direct billing and Agency billing functionality. The product has been in production since 1991.
• The client had the product installed in April 2004.
• TARABS, a DB2 based system, runs on Mainframe using CICS, for the current client the product is ported to AS400 and the presentation layer is web enabled.

• The insurance client wanted to provide an option to the Insured to pay their bills via their web-site. Have worked on the project to interface TARABS with the Web-Portal.
• During the first phase the client made the single payment option available via the Web-Site for the insured. Headed the offshore team for backend process.
• During the second phase the client wanted to make the Auto Payment available for the insured. Headed the onsite team during this phase.

ACH-EFT Recurring Payments for a Legacy System

• TARABS being a Legacy system, in many proposals a gap identified that TARABS doesn't provide an option of ACH-EFT Payments. I headed a project from the offshore to interface and TARABS to JP Morgan Chase PayConnexion, so that the client's Insured could make payment using Credit cards or bank account through PayConnexion admin channel.
• Phase 2 of the project is to make Auto-Payments available via Pay Connexion. For that TARABS was enhanced to communicate the bill details to the Pay Connexion such that the payment can be automatically deducted. I have headed this project from offshore.

Installation of the Product to Z10 Mainframe system:

In 2008, TCS purchased new Z10 EC Mainframe system. Have headed a project from TARABS side to migrate the TARABS project from IBM z3090 to IBM Z10EC. Now we have installed and configured and made the product to work on the z10EC system from scratch.

Websphere MQ Installation

In 2012, one of the TARABS customers wanted to have the Web-Front End version of the TARABS to be interfaced to their backend. For this I have worked from offshore on a project to interface the Frond-End Web to the Backend Mainframe via middle ware IBM Websphere MQ.

In 2013 the client decided to buy a new AS400 System running on V7R1M0. The existing TIBCO messaging service RVRD is not supported in the V7R1M0 system. So client decided that all the TIBCO RVRD messaging to be moved to the TIBCO JMS. From TARABS side, have worked on a project in onsite to move the TARABS middleware TIBCO from TIBCO RVRD to TIBCO JMS messaging service.

Encrypt/Decrypt the feeds in/out of the system

TARABS being a billing product all the payment were handled by TARABS. For the client TARABS is interfaced with the Chase Bank and Chase bank communicates the payment details to the TARABS. Since this is a sensitive data which is transferred via Internet, Chase Bank made a mandatory rule that all the communication happens to/from the external system to be encrypted. Headed a project to encrypt and decrypt the feeds in and out of TARABS.
