Description:
is strategic platform for UHC for managing consumer/Member information and related coverage. It is important as Member database is designed as the single repository for all the sources of United Health Group for the member information. Some of the core CES functional areas include storing of demographic and coverage information of a Members, interaction with different downstream application via different files EDI Files / Flat files and other files , including claim engines, to verify details of members, sending feed to downstream applications like NICE, TOPS, COSMOS, UBH, TACS. The application is working on Mainframes Platform. Employee portals access eligibility details, which reside in CES and make add/update/delete transactions. CES controls the volume and provide response to each of these systems in real time. CES also interacts with provider/physician systems to assign PCP's for members and make updates via Batch and Online mode. During the life cycle of a claim CES is queried several times to retrieve eligibility and demographic details of a member, thus it plays the most important part in the claim processing. The most important functions of CES is 'Member ID Cards'. ID cards are issued to members during a special event, during this process several eligibility checks are made with CES system. CES system is important as it acts as the central repository for member database and it interacts with several systems like Claims, Provider, and Member Portals and Data ware housing systems. CES also sends feed to CMS Centre for Medicare and Medicaid Services
