Project Management

  • Provided Technical Management and Service Management Architecture for the VITA project. During project execution managed the design, development, and implementation of the Service Requests Management System SRMS including, Requests Management web site, Chargeback and Billing, Asset Management, Verification and Validation, Procurement SAP and Service Desk interfaces, and Service delivery IMAC systems. These systems comply with the ITIL v 3 methodology and business practices and based on the iterative nature of the projects incremental software methodology Agile all five software products were continually re-evaluated to verify program acceptance and direction. SRMS includes the analysis and procurement of the hardware/software/database required to operate and sustain the systems throughout the 12-year contract period. Architected the systems based on the design, development, and implementation in CoSD below and using a copy exact methodology to implement the systems into the VITA outsourcing project. All applications were migrated to VMs VMware and the database server remained on standard servers for performance. Designed and developed an online purchase requisition interface using the SAP order fulfillment tables PO Header, PO line item, and PO history EKKO, EKPO, EKBE , the EAI Enterprise Application Integration was accomplished using Websphere as the messaging service between myRequests web site and SAP. The procurement orders where submitted to SAP through the EAI after approved for purchase by the end user. The EAI passed PO status including PO , date ordered, date shipped, date received, and date closed all real-time. SAP was configured to auto order create the PO and send to the vendor collect details and feed back to the web site. Or batch the orders and released every 4 hours. This interface solved a critical SLA of 10 days for all contract purchases from approval to delivery to the customer.
  • Provided Service Management Architecture for the CoSD proposal in the Cross Functional area. Wrote the proposal plans for the design, development, and implementation of the Chargeback and Billing, Asset Management, and Time Reporting systems to comply with ITIL v2. During execution of the project I was the System Architect, managed the design, development, and implementation of the Work Requests web site, Chargeback and Billing, Asset Management, Procurement Interface, and Time Reporting Systems using Agile PM methodologies. This included the analysis and procurement of the hardware required to operate and sustain the systems throughout the 7-year contract period. Designed the end-to-end architecture and interfaces to integrate the above applications. Then developed the myRequests Website Work Requests, eCatalog, IMAC, and Security request and the Chargeback Repository, and implemented the Chargeback application interfaced to customers Oracle ERP GL , and the Asset Management system and procurement interface to NG Financial system Lawson/SAP . The time-reporting system was combined with the Microsoft Project Server component and was implemented separately. All systems are currently in production and operational.

Software Development

  • Performed as software development project manager and database designer for the DOE NETL National Energy Technology Laboratory Strategic Center for Natural Gas and Oil project. Designed the software GUI and database solution centered on NETL's manual engineering data collection system. Automated the GUI design, database, and database feeds to include converting the manual raw text files into a SQL Server database and wrapping it with a GUI developed in a VB application for engineering analysis, pricing, and process control of US Oil and Gas reserve data. Developed the output for future use of exporting excel, graphs, and data warehousing.

  • Oversaw the technical and operational divestiture of the Manufacturing Solution Business Unit during 2003. The objective was to collect all Intellectual Property of the world-wide business unit US, Asia, Europe and organize it into a format to comply with the archiving requirements of TRW/Northrop Grumman and the unique country and or contractual requirements. It included all computers, laptops 100 , servers 40 , workstations 12 , peripherals 25 , and software 1000 , COTS and proprietary custom . Coordinated the shut-down of the Phoenix, Austin, and San Jose offices in the US with the Dresden office in Europe and the Malaysia, Taiwan, China and Singapore offices in Asia.

  • Provided Technical Equipment Interface EI Management on the 300mm FAB Equipment Automation Infineon project for the US EI developers using CMMI. Was responsible for Software development activities involving tool automation using the Brooks Automation STATIONworks product and Visual Basic VB . The international project was jointly developed using both German and US developers working in a common environment, yet separated by the Atlantic Ocean, using change/configuration control and close communications to coordinate the activities surrounding the 40-plus equipment types requiring implementation. Implemented a full software life-cycle environment for the project to maintain international coordination of development and implementation of all software. The project is still ongoing and will continue with a support and maintenance contract to maintain the implemented EIs.

  • Managed the Data Center implementation hardware/software/database portion of the project. The copy exact methodology used in the project required the evaluation of the LSIs HW/SW/db/network environment to allow integration of the infrastructure into the LSI's environment, allowing ability to copy the software/databases to Silterra's environment. The hardware and software tasks included analysis, specifications, procurement, vendor and customer negotiation, receipt, setup, power, network ports, installation, disaster recovery, and implementation into the LSI/Kulim/Silterra environments. The database tasks required analysis, sizing, validation, cleanup, subsets of databases for test and validation, recovery tools, import/export methodology, and migration into the LSI/Kulim/Silterra environments. The project took many unique twists, which caused constant revision of the HW/SW/db environments to keep the project on schedule. Four HW/SW subsystems where created. They included a development system, test system, production system and fail-over system. Also managed the analysis and setup of two TRW LANs for the Portland offices, which included hardware, software, and development environments. These TRW LANs were built to support the HW and SW development environments needed to successfully complete the project. This project was completed on time and within budget.

  • Project Manager on Lucent Supervisory Controller Development Team for BDM. Supervisory Controller SC was developed for Philips Consumer Communications Lucent to control in real time, high-speed, and fully-automated, digital phone manufacturing line. The custom SC provided the vital link between Manufacturing Execution System MES and the 14 robotic build stations cells on the phone production line, utilizing RF tags to maintain phone lot control and carrier management. The 14 cells used AdeptMV to communicate to SC via SECS messages. An Oracle database repository was designed and developed to maintain data integrity throughout the manufacturing process and interface to customers ERP, including buffers required for the extended test and rework cycles. The line produced one phone every seven seconds in a lights-out environment.
