Project Manager

I perform Project Management activities for the ARBenefits system and perform claims analysis. I am responsible for systems changes related to the ARBenefits system. Employee Benefits Division administers the health insurance for State Employees, School Employees, COBRA, and retirees. I manage projects related to the system for EBD. For Catamaran, I enter information directly into the pharmacy system for members for EBD.

I performed on-going Project Management activities for the ARBenefits system. The system is an Oracle based system used to enroll state and school employees, retirees and their dependents into health care. The system includes tracking of miscellaneous other products life, dental, vision, behavioral health, etc . As EBD continues to strive to provide health care services and contain costs, system enhancements and other projects are increasingly important. During these years, I have analyzed health care data, analyzed statistics, translated and presented data to EBD Director and other staff members and the Board to assist in the policy development for the insurance plans for state and school employees.

During this time period, I was responsible for the implementation of the ARBenefits system. The system is an Oracle based system used to enroll state and school employees and their dependents into health care. For these few months, I was hired as an outside contractor until a permanent state position became available. It was imperative that I be able to interpret federal and state regulations regarding health care and translate this information to a suitable system.

For approximately 6 months of this time, even though I was a DIS employee, I was contracted back to DHS to implement Welfare Reform because of my specific knowledge of the programs and my ability to manage the required system related changes.
