IT Director/Educator/Senior Consultant

  • Illustr Employed as an IT Director and Educator Consultant to revamp the current program with the goal to retain students and provide an exceptional education experience. Responsibilities included, requirements gathering with the staff, analysis of existing system and design of a new WEB based solution. This effort used the students, as part of projects for each class they took, to present solutions for the specific area being analyzed. For example, these students developed solutions in the following areas: Requirements Gathering, Asset Management, Standards to include WEB design, logos, fonts, etc., Incident Reporting System IRS , and most recently a Ridley Lowell Computer Club Web Sites launched off of the current main page. These systems and others have not been fully deployed due to lack of funding and resources needed to deploy. However, the IRS system has been deployed using HTML and ACCESS. This can viewed as an Internal Internship program.
  • Rational Regarding the 2 year IT Associate program. Given the responsibility to develop a new program that would be targeted solely to the IT community. The research took over 100 hours to complete. Resulted in over 30 courses that cover basic concepts for IT, Networking, Programming, WEB Design, Security, Capstone course, Technical Writing, Computer Math course focused on Binary concepts and others. This program was designed specifically for a technical degree but includes some elements needed by New York State to qualify for an Associates Degree. The submission has not been made to NY State education due to lack of resources to complete the other elements needed for approval. This program is projected to bring in revenue over 5 million dollars over 2 years. It will complement the current IT program. In fact, students who have taken and completed the current program will be able to transfer all courses to the new program. This will result in about 1 year more of classes to confer the 2 year degree.

Confidential as a Consultant with IBM as the client. Responsibilities included, requirements gathering with the stakeholder, analysis of existing system and design of a new WEB based solution. This effort used the Rational Unified Process RUP to capture and track requirements Requisite Pro , developed the design using RUP tools and diagrams, business use cases, use case realization, diagrams, DB2 logical and physical data model, documents and programming details for the solution. The solution required using IBM products Websphere, DB2 and AIX as the platform for development. The solution centered around using HTML and XML to capture survey and questionnaire data generated by the system for IBM pre-announced products. It is an automated capture system of selected IBM customer experiences. The architecture required the use of IBM Global Services IGS infrastructure that consists of isolated areas of various components from external access. This information was tracked for the duration of the test and used to inform IBM management and development of the customer experience. It was also required that all IBM corporate guidelines for developing web hosting solutions be followed. This included the IBM development process and corporate standards. Security was a key factor for this system and required a unique solution to allow certification. This system was used corporate wide both domestic and international. The system solution was projected to save over 5 million dollars over 2 years. It replaces several uniquely developed systems within IBM.
