As Program Manager I was responsible for operating a COBOL code conversion factory in support of eradicating the Y2K bug that existed in the old COBOL programs. I directed a team of 40 programmers following strict processes and guidelines he developed for quality assurance to validate that the millions of line of COBOL code were properly processed by the code conversion tool. The converted code required systematic testing and the team had validated that each converted program still worked as expected with all the Y2K bugs eliminated. My personal responsibilities included developing project plans for each work package a logical bundle of programs that came into the factory interfacing with clients to determine scheduling priorities performing system engineering by analyzing processes, procedures, and code internals developing plans to handle special requirements, business rules, and process functions specifying remediation and IV V strategies ensuring proper implementation of specifications and managing the work package from inception to conclusion.
