SQL Job monitoring tool

Description: The Company services many credit card companies. The client has numerous SQL Jobs scheduled and run catering to their processes. A tool was designed and developed to keep a track of the status of the jobs, lest the company ends with SLA’s. The tool periodically reads a shared pop3 mailbox and looks for Failure or Problem messages and sends out alerts to Pagers. There is an on call team which is responsible for the jobs 24x7. Also, if the job has not started on time or does not end as per the schedule, the tool alerts the on call team.

DTS Error Logging

Description: There are numerous DTS Packages which are executed by SQL Jobs on a daily basis. There was no automatic error logging system in place, in case any job fails. The person on call has to manually check a spread sheet of all the DTS packages scheduled. This becomes tedious and prone to human errors. A system was developed to track all the errors of DTS Packages and a web interface was put in place for the client to look at the report.
