Primary role was to manage projects for the Network Shared Services Division of GE Money Americas, which included WMC Mortgage, GE Retail Consumer Finance and GE Retail Sales Finance. Planned for redundancy and high availability options that met the customer requirements. Worked closely with the IT support teams to ensure accuracy in the reporting of project deliverables such as scope, costs, and contracts.

  • Integrated the WMC and GE networks as one of the project managers of the GE Money Shared Services team. The GE network consisted primarily of Cisco Network infrastructure, including 6500 switches integrated with a Avaya voice over ip solution.
  • Coordinated network connectivity for new business centers as well as connectivity between GE and client data centers using WAN technologies including Frame Relay, ATM and site to site VPN. Circuit sizes varied from Gigabit MAN, full DS3 to 64kb.
  • Worked with Business PMs on client relationship projects, coordinating the WAN connectivity portion. Engaged Network Architects to determine the design, bandwidth and equipment requirements and Engineers to script and implement network changes. Worked with procurement staff internally and with equipment vendors and Telecommunication companies.
  • Managed the purchase of circuits and network equipment per the project plan.
  • Led projects such as load balancing of web and application servers utilizing F5 appliances and the installation of Visual Network traffic management probes.
  • Coordinated the distribution of IP addresses and switch ports for HP and SUN servers being placed in the data centers, scripting the changes and implementing and testing connectivity.

Responsible for designing, installing and maintaining the data center for a 250 file server, 2500 user environment as a key technology resource reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Network and Technology Systems. Also, served as primary IT influencer for data center and infrastructure projects including capacity planning.   • Upgraded the technology systems within the data center as the Microsoft/UNIX environment grew from 190 employees in one location to over 2500 employees in 11 locations.
