PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Confidential

Programmer/Analyst

Responsibilities:
  • Involved in the modification of COBOL batch DB2 and CICS DB2 programs for the Confidential
  • CBS (Complete Billing System) system which JP Morgan Chase uses for customer billing. Programming changes were made with the BNKEDIT editor found on the VM/CMS system while testing was performed on the Z/OS system. Most of the changes were with the general ledger system where program enhancements were devised by Confidential systems analyst. Made changes to CICS ssfiles for on - line screen changes along with making enhancements to the CICS COBOL programs to use the new screen changes. Followed test scripts designed by an Confidential business analyst to verify the changes were properly made before the final product was released to JP Morgan Chase for their own client acceptance testing. Also wrote easytrieve plus programs to verify general ledger changes. Some of these programs were for scraping general ledger and other pertinent reports and placing the data into files which could be loaded to excel. Used file manager, file manager for DB2 and batch SPUFI to verify changes made to the programs. Also used both batch and CICS versions of Xpediter to debug program changes.
  • Also create file manager templates to be used to view flat files and VSAM files found in Confidential 's daily test job. Also created JCL which could be used to backup the flat files and VSAM files for this daily job to flat files with a date and time stamp appended to the end of the backup file name.
  • Wrote COBOL procedure copybooks to be used in a mainline DB2 COBOL program which extracted XML data from a DB2 log table and then created a flat file for interface into the Confidential CBS system. Wrote a COBOL program which emulated the mainline DB2 COBOL program but instead this new COBOL program processed a flat file which was created from a batch SPUFI of the DB2 log table. This way there was no need for DB2 restart logic which is found in the mainline DB2 COBOL program.
  • Modified programs for JP Morgan Chase which presented a new net tax field. These on-request and monthly programs were changed per the Confidential systems analyst design documents. Again easytreive plus programs were written to scrape the detail data from reports so flat files could be created to load the data into excel. Updated the file manager templates for the Confidential daily test job with new file layouts of the net tax calculation process which was implemented for JP Morgan Chase. Wrote test scripts of how the data was verified for the programming changes.
  • Created GDG files for Confidential 's daily test job. Use ICETOOL to backup flat files before they are updated by the various programs found in Confidential 's daily test job. This will provide for a before and after image of the files which would help in testing. Wrote easytrieve plus programs to scrape detail data from additional reports found in Confidential 's CBS system and then created flat files with this data which can be imported to excel. This would help in testing when processing data for an account which may be found in various areas of a report.
