Project Manager

  • Responsibilities included: Coordinate all project related activities identifying risks and developing appropriate contingency plans. Develop and maintain the Project Plan, Staffing Profile, and Issues Log and accurately track and report project hours. Maintain communication with program leadership team members and project sponsors escalating issues as appropriate. Conduct weekly project meetings.
  • Product and Platform Consolidation: Managed the $500,000 release 1 deliverables for Virtual Workstation (VWS) delivered to specifications, on time, within budget.
  • Codes and Data Readiness was successfully implemented in October '08. The project facilitated the integration of St. Paul and Travelers systems by providing standardized codes and data element definitions, edits and keys
  • VWS Stabilization and Improvement had successful deliverables in October, November, February and April ’09. Each field office in the country had a local MS Access database used by the VWS client server application. These deliverables improved the stability, data integrity and scalability of the system by eliminating the shared local database.
  • CAIR: An enterprise wide project to consolidate the account clearing between disparate St. Paul and Travelers systems. Support for CAIR was consistently ahead of schedule and uncovered multiple program level issues. The Commercial Account Groups sub - project overcame hurdles regarding integrated services and test data availability.
  • Café: The objective of this Multi-million dollar project was to re-architect the Virtual Workstation system onto a .Net platform and eliminate the dependency on MS Access using a centralized SQL server data base. This project was an early adopter of the Global Sourcing staffing model and included a variety of technical challenges with on-boarding resources. In addition, it was one of the earliest .Net projects within the division presenting infrastructure and training challenges.

Information Systems Manager

  • Production Support and Enhancement Manager for the entire portfolio of National Accounts applications.
  • Managed 30-50 changes each integrated version in addition to non-integrated version support.
  • Special project activity included National Accounts Strategic Technology Plan, National Accounts Technology Expense Analysis, and National Accounts Technology Portal Analysis.

  • Managed a team of developers responsible for supporting and enhancing the existing mainframe National Accounts system while developing a distributed system replacement.

  • Team lead on the TCS project. This was one of Aetna's first windows applications to establish centralized claim centers which could handle claim calls for all lines of business. The first release was a year long effort and was successfully implemented on time and within budget.
  • Developer and project lead on the CASE project. This was one of the first distributed applications at Aetna. The pilot used a local data base which was replaced with an MDBS data base before being rolled out countrywide.
  • Project lead on the effort to replace the Mini-computer data base at the Aetna International office in New York City.
  • Project Lead on the effort to replace the Mini-computer data base ant the Aetna International office in New York City. Aetna had a partnership with insurance companies in Japan and Italy to handle international claims. I managed the project to convert to a DBASE data base.

Developer and Team Lead

  • Worked on a variety of projects including revising the driver assignment module, New Jersey JUA, support for multi car discounts and the Safe Driver Insurance Plan.

Trainee/Developer

  • Developer in the Agency Administration area responsible for weekly and monthly batch jobs, including the President's Club and Round Table reports which rated and ranked agents performance and fed the compensation system.
