  • Architected a fully redundant EMC Data Warehouse of patient studies for CHI. Business goals were demonstrated five years later during the 2011 Joplin tornado disaster by providing a replacement fully functional on-site McKesson HMI / MRM PACS system in a few days.
  • VMware processes used for DR and Redundancy. Introduced the VMware infrastructure and methodologies to CHI with vSphere, Control Center (vCenter) and additional management apps that balance the applications between blade servers, data centers and disaster recovery centers. CHI is the first Health System to be certified with a virtualized Enterprise Meditech solution.
  • Developed technical solutions including Oracle database compression solutions for transmission to remote sites, WAAS (network compression), Cloud solutions via MPLS segmentation, NAS solutions and Reading Network solutions. Each were adopted by Fortune 50 organizations and included as part of their standard product process.
  • Re-worked the implementation of one of the major product offerings of Kronos to make it secure for the enterprise. My white paper is now the standard install document by Kronos for their product.
  • Created CHI’s enterprise Lawson implementations including applications that utilized WebSphere and other middleware technologies (eGate JCAPS, Cloverleaf, MQSeries, etc.). These provide the architecture roadmaps, crosswalks, and interfaces with IBM, DB2, Oracle and SQL.
  • Situational awareness of business silos within CHI’s ITIL environment allowed me to be the primary technical project lead and administrator for all enterprise application implementations.   • Jones Cyber Solutions develops billing solutions for global telecommunications companies. JCS is a privately and wholly owned entity of Glenn Jones, former Cable TV tycoon.
  • I completed my work as Manager, Project Manager and Architect of all of the departments that makes up the development of the Jones Cyber Solutions (JCS) product: Production, Development, Test and Customer Care.
  • Architected and development and production data centers in Denver, and production data centers in France, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. These include power, power generators, UPS, HVAC, Fibre and Microwave communications.
  • Physical Equipment Managed: MS Exchange and Windows File Servers (plus in a Performance and Volume Lab), Solaris Servers, Linux Servers, Network Switches, Microwave Radio, T1 and DS3 circuits.
  • Protocols Managed: Active Directory, LDAP, NIS+, VPN, Citrix, Web, SSH, & Security initiatives for internal & external clients, etc. We sublet part of our leased space to another development group which proved to be a security and political challenge and a great learning experience.
  • Managed the move of our data center twice. This included the HVAC and power.
  • Assisted with the outsourcing of Lawson and the re-implementation of Lawson. This included WebSphere and the architecting of roadmaps, crosswalks, and interfaces in the IBM, DB2, Oracle and SQL disciplines.
  • I used the Mercury WinRunner / LoadRunner toolset to accurately scale and transformed our small development systems to the large production environments of our multi-billion dollar international customers.
  • Managed the Performance and Volume group (using the Mercury LoadRunner toolset). This allowed us to find underperforming code and run debugger software against it. I often sat with our coders to substantiate our findings and help optimize their code.
  • Jones University was the first fully accredited online university. I advised their senior management in how to architect their data center space / co-location to maximize availability and minimize cost.
  • Jones Radio, at the time, was the largest provider of radio content in the United States. I helped move their programing to all digital. This included a server farm of over 120 Windows servers streaming live and pre-programmed music and talk to the largest radio market in North America.
  • Server and seat licensing was a big cost for JCS. By utilizing FreeBSD, Linux, VPN and other strategic technologies, I was able to bring an 80% reduction in licensing and server costs while still improving security.
  • I constantly collaborated with managers, programmers, and vendors to provide creative solutions tailored for infrastructure needs and for our overseas customer’s needs.
