Architect of the Capitol (AOC) Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Promoted, planned, and oversaw an innovative solution to move the agency from XP to Windows 7 a year ahead of the deadline (including the introduction of folder redirection and synchronization of user data to NetApp storage). Delivered this upgrade over the network to over 1400 desktops in less than three weeks delighting the customer with a high quality, high performance, secure desktop environment that also brought much praise from our user community.
  • From conception to full deployment: A complete failover solution to support Continuity of Operations (COOP), which increased system availability and reliability. Impact: Recovery from full datacenter failure in minutes. Technologies used: VMWare ESX, SRM and NetAPP.

  • While assigned to 1AD, deployed on a sixteen-month tour in Iraq (OIF) as well as several thirty-day tactical exercises in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, and Germany.
