  • Software development oversight for BIG Data platform of call detail records, leading to cost savings of over $150M in the first five years. This was the first Big Data platform implemented on a Netezza platform at Confidential, which was later migrated to Hortonworks Hadoop to gain cost savings and operational efficiencies. The platform contains over 1.5B call transactions per day, two years of history, and three reporting application utilizing this data. The business case justification increased from three use cases to over ten in the lifetime of the platform.
  • Development and support of Telecom Expense Management system for receipt, ETL, payment and dispute management of over $6B in annual expense. The development and support activities achieved annual savings of over $300M in cost avoidance, optimization, and fraud detection. This large system replacement program followed Waterfall methodology for gathering requirements, and all subsequent development activities.
  • Requirements, testing, and refinement of audit procedures for Telecom Expense related to network circuit inventory, call usage, non - recurring charges, and tax/surcharge billing. Support allowed for automation in discovery of $20M in monthly billing disputes.
  • Revenue Assurance guidance to IT and end user teams to protect $20M in monthly billing of telecom revenue. Agile methodology was used for or requirements gathering, analysis, testing and rollout of a self-service portal to retrieve billing detail for customer dispute resolution. This system development required the flexibility in the use of Agile to guide the actual new system needs.
