Confidential, Hoffman Estates, C hicago
Responsibilities:
- Managed multiple projects in technical role in various corporate high-priority initiatives in this Confidential company.
- Confidential is now #3 US retailer with a strong online presence and uses innovative logistics flows.
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Monitored Social Media postings and created weekly reports for CEO/CIO level, comprising of a one-page executive summary on program status, budget burn rate and top issues (usually dealt at director level).
- Trained offshore team that developed Intellectual Property in several areas (6 patents in process) with immediate use for FOCUS and Assembly to C conversion tools. Created with them wiki site from grounds up.
- Integrate Kmart Peoplesoft accounting use with Confidential / Confidential for Sears and tool the app from legacy to unix mode.
- Major saving of IT processing (and paper wastage reduction) by doing a first-ever complete inventory of each and every report (60,000+) in the company, Sears and Kmart combined, then ramping down to only the essential, saving not only on space, MIPS (reduced processing), but eventually costs less to re-platform these.
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Our team was the first to merge Sears and Kmart sides on the same application platform, which was delivered on time with phased implementations for softline & hardline much ahead of the merger of domestic side apps.
- Architected by myself an unified system of ASN (Advanced Ship Notices) using a new EDI 945 protocol, saving more than $500K per year from the 3rd party logistics facility fees, because this new home-grown integration allowed new decon provider to fulfill both Sears & Kmart mdse flows with exact same process.
- Created unique replenishment integration with Manugistics with first database-to-database interconnections. Later that successful pattern was used for many other interfaces like SAS and OTM ( Confidential ) for carrier feeds.
Confidential, Troy, MI
IT Senior Systems Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Upgraded and rolled-out 200+ online user screens from old character mode to web-based Oracle forms (11g).
- Provided in-house support and development for a mission critical Import application handling 17% of the whole company’s volume. Added customized modules and integrated with other major supply chain systems to extend life of the application. Also reduced problem tickets and abends by 90%, saving contractor OT costs.
- Full accounting interface with Peoplesoft ERP. Functional use of replenishment using Inforem and Manugistics. It had 3 level replenishment of store demand, then DC demand rolling up to corporate level PO.
- Realized savings of $1.5+ million annually in trucking cost by re-architecting to eliminate DC ‘stops’ and send seasonal high-demand merchandise direct to mainland stores from first touch point (deconsolidation) in USA.
- Supported mission critical warehouse interface application called Black Box that processed store demand and inbound mdse from distribution center to Store, optimizing the usual apparel flows even for low-volume but high-margin products. Provided quick turn around on analytics needed on gun control and loss-prevention.
- Created home-grown tools to monitor the app 24x7, eliminating 30% overtime needed in prior manual process.
- Saved millions on GE EDI costs by taking out majority of the EDI file feeds to non-EDI format. Worked with data communication teams to roll out an equally reliable AS2 based data exchange system, which was far more scalable than EDI, and ran double the volume at no additional cost during merger.
- Architected dozens of smaller front-end online special-purpose Java apps such as PO approval, transit, claims that run in Sears own private cloud infrastructure with all transactions logged to common Oracle databases for legacy sync thru batch and real-time updates. Some of these apps had DB2 and Teradata also as data source.
- Interfaced with Confidential designed Teradata Data Warehouse so that vendors can run workbench reports from outside firewall as part of Collaborative Manufacturing, giving vendors rule-based visibility to item specs, on-order (dates and qty needed), receipts and miss-shipped cases. Near real-time reporting in Terabyte scale.
- Claims refund processing using sister company concept: best of class integration of return goods to Peoplesoft.
- Architected a best-in-the-class 7501 related integration for Confidential that still stands as the best hosted model.
Confidential, Troy, MI
Responsibilities:
- I took it from “Ideate” level to design, coded most of it myself, make it market-able with pilot runs in furrier conferences, and then assisted sales team to actually start selling it. First few copies sold in the next 6 months I was there.
- Development was done on unix, with regression testing to see every part work also on Wintel. We made it scalable from single-PC for a small client to networked wintel platform for medium size, and we sold the package even to a large furrier who implemented it on their bigger Confidential U6000 unix hardware. The package was easily configurable to work with a variety of POS and had friendly user-settable billing & accounts payable interface.
- T&M contract obligations for Confidential sites, including 18 months in Radnor conversion center for Shop Floor pilot apps and 6 months in Mission Viejo CA mainframe system software factory. Personally coded the RPG compiler part of the RAMP platform designed to replicate IBM system 34/36 boxes by Confidential hardware costing only 60% of IBM, in order to grab the market share from IBM forcing clients to upgrade to AS400s.
- Supported smaller Confidential clients who sometimes needed L3/L4 level help with their own applications based on Oracle, Ingress or Progress RDBMS, specially for the transitions needed after they bought new hardware, or upgraded database. Assisted customers to migrate their legacy history data to Oracle in an automated way.
