Responsible for leading computer information systems operations for seven divisions of over eight thousand Marines, civilians and contractors with an oversight budget of over $100 million dollars of critical communications equipment and projects. This encompasses: telecommunications devices, database services, cyber software protections, mainframe and server maintenance, customer support, Electronic Key Management Systems, ITILv2, Asset management and daily additional industry support of over one hundred and seventy personnel. Additionally, supervising, writing, and communicating all tasks for supporting advance deployed Marine units using messaging, video telecommunication conferencing capabilities both secure and non-secure, as well as planning, training and leading a Crisis Management Control Center. Currently directly responsible for all asset and change management utilizing the ITIL v2 process.

Executive Chief Information Officer

Supported theAssistant Chief of Staff G-6,as anExecutiveChief Information Systems Officer deployed to Al Asad Iraq during Iraqi Operation Freedom 2.2. Additionally, assigned as a Marine Corps Wing Communication Commander; responsible for five Operating Bases, Air Refueling Points, and three Marine Corps companies composed of over five-hundred Marines.

Responsible for supervising logistical planning sessions, briefing, and leading six hundred personnel at seven operating bases across a perimeter of nine thousand square miles of battle field territory.

Provided mentorship and counseling for fourteen department lead officers and twenty-two government service employees. Additionally, responsible for overseeing, and reengineering Command Control Computer Communications Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) information systems, supporting over 15,000 Third Marine Corps Aircraft Wing personnel, maintenance oversight, and $43 million dollars of equipment and annual training.

Supervised the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) computer cutover process which transitioned over six thousand users. Controlled and wrote electronic maintenance matters during numerous operations and exercise planning meetings as well as completing tasks as assigned by the Marine Corps Air Wing Commanding General while assigned an additional duty as a Headquarters Squadron Logistics Officer.

Responsibility included Testing advance information technology hardware and software for the Department of Defense Interoperability Communications Exercise (DICE) which involved over four hundred personnel twenty-two multi-organizations. In addition, assigned as a Program Manager responsible for the Moonv6 demonstration. The Moonv6 project is a global effort led by the North American IPv6 Task Force (NAv6TF ) involving the University of New Hampshire Inter-Operability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), Internet2, vendors, service providers and regional IPv6 Forum Task Force network pilots worldwide. Worked on a daily basis with Department of Defense (DOD) IPv6 transition office developing network planning strategies, testing, and transition of IPv6 technology.

Also included:

  • Leading a planning team for eight U.S. Pacific Command’s operations and annual exercises.
  • Spearheading the Joint Interoperability Test Command’s IPv6 lab for research, development and testing of DOD’s future internet protocol.
  • Provided technical advice on approaches to address interoperability issues between Republic of Korea and U.S. Forces Korea communications systems and equipment.
