Integration Lead - HCM (Workday)

Responsibilities:

  • Leave System re-implementation Architect for evaluating the 14-year old system to identify vulnerable area and revamp it within a very short period. The project encompasses data fixes, bugs identification, new architect and re-builds confidence of stakeholders. Development was completed in a highly pressured, deadline driven agile environment. Users and management chain were highly involved throughout the process. Mandates were clearly understood where no path was given. A small team was formed and knowledge and experiences were shared through daily briefing. Solutions were expressed in diagrams and charts that could be understood by different audience.   • Tax reimbursement. Work closely with clients to prepare for 2016 tax regulation changes, accurately calculate tax liability projection, enhance system controls, etc. Change configurations as needed. Resolve any lingering issues with clients. Advice clients on future enhancement, etc.
  • Attendance System Reverse engineering of the current system in production. Resolve some of the issues with new hires, transfers, termination and integrate HCM fully. Review and repair the discrepancy between employee self-service, manager self-service and PeopleSoft backend applications. Prepared process design mapping and data flow charts.
  • Payroll (N.A.) Assist clients to review the current payroll process (e.g., 21 pages of steps); analyze and provide system comparison for future upgrade (e.g., SAP, Workday vs. PeopleSoft). Provide day to day functional and technical support.
  • HR Contractual Conversion. To implement AWE in workflow management; streamline the HR hiring process across the whole organization.
  • Review shared service support. In process of review and enhance the flow of resolving production issues per SLA. Eliminate many unnecessary steps in order to improve the overall response time.

Responsibilities:

  • PeopleSoft 9.1 Upgrade. Introduced PeopleSoft Global Payroll product to the World Bank. Played key role in convincing stakeholders in selecting this leading-edge solution in the market. Partnered with Comptroller, I formulated the plan, coordinated product demos, prepared cost-benefit analysis, and drafted the business justification and project costing. I acted as technical lead of payroll re-implementation GP 9.1. Hands on the project from design, development, testing and migration. Conducted various training for clients. The upgrade was completed on April 1st, 2014 after two and half years of effort. Recognized individually by HR VP at the Project Celebration Ceremony.
  • Payroll Production Support. Lead the technical team to support payroll system since September 2007. Worked closely with clients onshore and offshore. Successfully paying 16,000 staff in over 150 countries on time correctly.
  • Team management. Mentored and managed a team of 13 technical staffs in two continents.
  • In the past 7 years, I recruited three staff to augment the payroll technical team. In addition, I experienced three vendor companies turnover (and staff), Saytam, TCS and HCL.
