IT Programmer Analyst

Responsibilities:

  • Epic team data, for example Orders, ADT, Willow, Ambulatory, Cadence, ClinDoc and some (Radiant and Beaker).
  • Set profile variables for each Epic interface when setting up New Epic interfaces.
  • Move interfaces to various environments utilizing the Epic utility to pack and unpack databases.
  • Use Rhapsody Engine by Orion to interface with Epic. Previous integration tool was Egate.
  • Create new document types for Transcription interfaces (Softmed and Solcom) and maintain Epic Tables used by Transcription and Scan interfaces.
  • Duties also involve working with various vendors on multiple Premier projects like Meaningful Use and Syndromic Surveillance interface.
  • Currently completed install and set up of 3 interfaces to be used by the Alaris pumps. Work with HealthBridge now referred to as “The Health Collaborative” and OHIP to deliver data. Collaborate with team of 7, on-call rotation.

  • Work with the vendor of our three Sunquest labs each located at different facilities and each on a different version of Sunquest who upgraded three of our facilities to the same version in order to get the labs ready to accept the Lo inc Codes.

  • Test the three facilities to make sure the Lo inc Codes were recognized and the expected lab results were received. Other venders working with are Cerner, GE, Quest Diagnostics, Evolent and many more.
  • Setup and test new Epic Interfaces, set profile variables and triggers. Interfaces can be point to point where data comes straight into Epic bypassing the interface engine. Interfaces can also require manipulation of the date for downstream systems, requiring a build through the Rhapsody Integration Engine (Middleware) and data flow is either inbound or outbound.
  • Epic Bridges inbound charge interface. Charges not handled by Epic come thru the Bridges inbound interface (907109). Charges that come through the interface are: our 4 labs, Obgyn, and AS. Charges from Epic to the charge router are handled by the billing group.
  • Work with various vendors to discuss and setup connectivity. Often access Unix Side (test side/dark side) to access chronicles to applications not available through the Bridges GUI.
  • Macro and Metaprogramming languages used: Regular expressions, UNIX Scripts, some (Java scripting), Perl, C, m4 bundled with UNIX, the C preprocessor (cpp), monk.
