Client: Confidential, CA Mar 2008 - Current Project Name: TAXPRO - BEDROCK IMPACT Description Confidential has a major initiate to upgrade the Oracle ERP systems from 11i to R12. As part of this initiate it also launched some other sub-initiatives which had an impact on the TAXPRO system which is a downstream system to Oracle ERP and the custom cost-plus system. Following are the sub-initiatives which impacted TAXPRO as a downstream system

  • Merging of two instances in one instance
  • Migrating the custom cost-plus system into third party Virtual Trader

The whole set of initiates were code named as Bedrock. TAXPRO which generates several reports like Segmented P/L, WWPBT, M14, 956 computation summaries is impacted due this Bedrock initiative. The data extract programs and computations of TAXPRO are required to be adjusted and all the flows and computations of TAXPRO were required to test.

Responsibilities:

Due to my prior experience of TAXPRO during actual development phase and knowledge of Cisco GL local and consolidation process, AP and AR I have also partly played the role of analyst thus preparing some requirement document portions. Below is the summary of responsibilities.

Project Name: TAXPRO Description

TAXPRO is a customized solution which extracts data from several systems like Oracle ERP, Systems Integrator (SI), and Cost-plus. This application has several flows as below.

  • Admin flow which helps to perform system administration activities like creating users, assigning roles, role-screen mapping to name a few
  • Data extract flow which extracts data from upstream systems into TAXPRO database tables
  • 956 Payables which creates the 956 computation summary report based on mortgage loans provided by foreign entities to US entities
  • BV/State which creates the Segmented P/L, trial balance and account analysis report of US and Netherlands entities which are Cisco manufacturing entities
