- Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS)
Brief on the project:
The project (TCMS) is used to control the train in degraded (manual) mode of operations.
It has two components ie. software (TCMS and the Train Operator Display (TOD)) and hardware (Mode Selector Switch (MSS) and DCH (Driver Control Handle)). The TCMS has various tabs including General Information, VAC (Ventilation & Air Conditioning), Message, Brake, APS (Auxiliary Power Supply), History and Current Faults. The system can be controlled in real-time and the parameters are adjusted to operate the train effectively and efficiently.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a member of the team, my responsibilities included ensuring the safe operation of the train, detecting faults in the TCMS, documenting the faults, reporting faults to the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and informing all stakeholders of any abnormalities in the normal operations of the train.

Projects worked included the following:
• AmeriTraffic (Online Traffic School)
Brief on the project:
This project is to create an Online Traffic School where users can take
mandatory traffic school courses after being charged with a traffic violation. At
the end of the course, a User has to pass an online exam conducted by NTSA
to get the violation removed from their traffic records. The development is
done using ASP.NET & SQL Server 2000.The project consists of two modules, ie. User and Admin. The third party integrators include Ipower (for online course payment) and NTSA (web-based testing engine).

As a member of the team, my responsibilities included preparation of test plan,
test cases, unit testing and integration testing.
• UHS (Unicru Hourly Solution)
Brief on the project:
The project is developed for online recruitment of staff in organizations such as hotels,
restaurants, shopping malls, engineering, manufacturing companies etc. The
application assists the hiring manager to decide whether to hire or fire a prospective
candidate. The application moves through a series of surveys to ascertain the
personal, educational and employment background (new or rehire) of the candidate. It
involves two applications, ie. WSS (Web Survey System) and ED (Employer’s
Desktop). The candidate applies for employment (online) through the WSS. The hiring
manager recruits the candidate from ED. An existing employee can also be terminated
or separated from the rolls in ED.

• ORBIT (Online Reporting and Business Insight)
Brief on the project:
The project was developed for online transactions in organizations such as Oil &
Energy companies. It involves two applications, ie. DeRisk, OBIS (Online Bunkering
Information System) --- LAN and Web. DeRisk and OBIS (LAN) were developed using
Vb.NET and MS-SQL Server 2005. The OBIS (LAN & Web) application can be accessed online.

• Pharmacy Management System (PMS)
Brief on the project:
The project was developed for healthcare organizations such as hospitals and
pharmacies. The physician can order medications from the pharmacy. The pharmacist
can create a formulary of medication items and pharmacy notes. The nurse can view
prescription orders, fill cart attached to various nursing units for the disbursement of
medications to patients and record adverse patient reactions. The home medications
can also be recorded for a patient. Various reports can also be viewed and printed by
the physician. The application was developed using VB.NET & MS-SQL Server 2005.

As a member of the team, my responsibilities included preparation of product
functional specification, process flow diagram, theory of operations manual, test plan,
test cases, unit testing and integration testing.
• Software Product Engineering
Brief on the project:
The project was developed for organizations such as engineering, manufacturing,
design, construction etc. It involved development of applications supporting AutoCAD
(client and server-based stand-alone, active X, web-based CAD viewers, document
management system) formats. The applications were developed in Visual Basic, Java,
J2EE, HTML & ASP. The database was MS-SQL Server 2005. The application can be
used to view, redline and print AutoCAD drawings.
