Responsibilities:

  • Confidential are the makers of famous brands of bread Such as “ Nature’s Own ” and “ Sunbeam” amongst others and several cake products that sell under the well-known “ TASTYKAKE ” label. The Company relies heavily on its ‘mobility’ devices supplied mainly by Confidential that are used by their Plants, Bakeries and Distributors.
  • The Company has hundreds of Distributors that use Motorola Handheld devices with an AFS application, to enable them to keep constant running inventory, receive ‘forecasted orders’ from corporate IT department, keep a count of stale and damaged items, print invoices on portable printers and a host of other functions.
  • The AFS application that resides on these devices is tested daily by running several ‘simulated routes’ and syncing uploads from and downloads to and from the devices. In addition, testing is also done for back-end interface with the thin client that further integrates with SAP systems.
  • Regression testing is carried out for any major service-pack updates as well as for certain change control events.
  • The company is in the process of bringing in ‘automation’ to their testing environment and is weighing various products in the market. They are currently trying out “M-eux Device Manager” by “Jamo Solutions” to provide the interface between HP UFT/QTP and their mobile devices.

Interaction between teams occurred in a ‘chat’ environment. Project was slated to end in September 2014.

  • Being part of the RSET (Release Services and Enterprise Testing) team, I started out as a member of the WMS (Workflow management Systems) team and extensively tested several builds of the “Docfinity” Product Application that supported the complex workflow needs of major clients such as Healthnet and Trailblazer. This involved testing on Host (CICS), Non-Host, Cross-Browser and Desktop Application for corporate HRIS and Healthcare Insurance-affiliated project activities, Using IBM OnDemand32 DocFinity 9 & 10 (Content Management Workflow Application) & Enhanced Seamless Search Applications.
  • Entrusted with testing of the VRU functions of the Telephony systems for various business lines. Mentored two new testers while testing for VRU. Received accolades from SME and superiors for uncovering defects that had gone unnoticed for a number of years.
