Project- Customer speed upgrade -TDC

Company: Confidential

Designation- Test lead

Team Size- 5

Project Description
This project deals with implementing fully integrated solution for customer speed upgrade. These activities will be fully automated within the inventory and co-ordinated by the OM/TM platform. To facilitate a meaningful demonstration, the inventory processing will include switch to allow the processing to be operated manually. The existing service includes Customer Premise Equipment capable of supporting speeds up to 100Mb. The card and SFP in the access router are matched to the CPE and can support up to 100Mb. The 10Mb limit is enforced by a port limit set in the access router configuration, with the expectation the customer may want to increase bandwidth at some time. The speed change requested by the user is 250Mb – greater than that supported by the access infrastructure.

Role and Contribution:

  • Analysis of requirements of existing setup.

Project- BSNL GSM OVPI (OpenView Performance Insight)

Company: Confidential

Designation- Sr Software Engineer

Team Size- 7

Project Description:
This project deals with the Performance management from the HP Open View portfolio of products. The product provides insight into the performance of the Network by providing several useful reports.
There is Data Pipe that interfaces with the EMS to pickup and process the flat-files. The report pack picks up processed data from the data pipe and generates the final report. The generated report is accessed through the Web Brower/GUI.
The OVPI system picks up data from EMS using FTP. As the report generation data is picked up from the EMS, the reporting functionality is constrained by the parameters exported from the EMS in the flat-file format.
The OVPI system also generates certain threshold alarms when certain performance thresholds are exceeded. These threshold alarms are forwarded to the Fault Management System. Various reports are generated on demand for varying time periods, for instance, – last 24 hours, last 15 days, last 12 weeks, and last 12 months.

Role and Contribution:
Involved in writing integration test plan for Performance Management.
Generating test cases for scenarios and mapping the same with RTM.
Execution of test cases
Environment: HP-UX, Open View Performance Insight, ServiceQualityManagement, TOAD, Java

Designation- Sr Software Engineer

Team Size- 15

Project Description:
TNOMS (Telecom Network Operation Management Support System) an Integrated NMS solution delivered by HP. Project functional areas includes:
- Fault Management, Performance Management, Inventory Management, Circuit Management

It supports the integrated GUI architecture to handle all the subsystems independently. Each of these subsystems are tested separately based on the functionality. The inventory management system auto-discovers the changes in the network and updates its inventory. Different type and vendor EMS provide the NE’s internal information using its own north bound protocols. The Config AM is provided for each vendor and protocol specific EM. These AMs are responsible for interfacing with NE’s corresponding EMS and retrieve the network configuration information from the EMS and translate it into format understandable by the framework. User has a choice in committing the discovered information, and if so, this then updates the Central Network and Service Repository as per the network and service model pre-defined.
