Effective Quality System Design

  • Achieved QS-9000 accreditation at Stelpipe within 14 months of being hired on despite inheriting a quality system that the registrar Lead Auditor had recommended stopping the initial registration audit within the first two hours onsite (with no additional resources). Complete quality system re-design and re-writing of all documentation levels, hiring and training of all related personnel and QA team.

Advance Product Quality Planning

  • Facilitated American Axle APQP team for new product development of 4130 stabilizer tube that re-established Stelpipe back into automotive sector and grew from one part to the entire GM stabilizer tube business within two years of inception (2,000 to 30,000 tons). Delivered 100% on-time with zero PPM defects shipped in 2002.

  • Successfully managed ISO/QS 9000 implementation projects from inception to registration in many diversified fields including: welding, automotive, aerospace, chemical, coatings, heat treating, safety equipment, machining, manufacturing and construction.

Customer Focus

  • Developed Hat Channel Test to simulate coating adhesion problems with Honda Civic Hatchback door inner at Alliston, Ontario. Developed a proprietary galvanneal coating adhesion test which contributed significantly to Dofasco\\\'s radically improved flaking performance and was incorporated into production as a routine quality control test. Solved Echo shallow pan splitting problem. Recommended changes that were successfully implemented to 1996½ Ford Mustang Front Cross-member to lower forming severity.

  • Trained Galv-Lab personnel to independently run Channel Test. Successfully satisfied concerns from Galv-Lab, Research and Upper Production Management.
