Riverside is an integrated health system with headquarters in Newport News, VA, and operations throughout Eastern Virginia. Its scope of services span across hospitals, a large employed provider group, post-acute care, and significant capacity and capabilities in senior housing and long-term supports and services LTSS . Approximately 8,000 team members work for Riverside. Annual consolidated revenue is roughly 1 billion. Riverside is Virginia's largest Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly PACE , a program I was hired to build. PACE is a unique and innovative community-based health care program for frail, nursing home-eligible older adults. It is both a payer for and provider of comprehensive health care services. PACE is funded primarily by Medicaid and Medicare there are over 100 PACE Organizations across 31 states.


  • Based in Newport News Administrative offices but travel extensively >50 of time to oversee operations elsewhere in Virginia. Met frequently with clinical teams and patients on site at PACE Centers.
  • As Vice President of PACE, responsible for a rapidly growing, six site, four locality, organization with over 450 employees and 45 million in annual revenue. Riverside-owned PACE Centers are in Newport News, Hampton, Richmond 2 , Petersburg, and Charlottesville, VA.
  • Managed 18 direct reports, including operations directors, clinical directors, and marketing directors. 450 employees in organization are multidisciplinary, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and transportation.

  • Recruited to Riverside to start the PACE Organization from scratch.Was the first person hired for PACE.
  • Led the successful development and opening of Riverside PACE. Riverside PACE was one of the fastest growing new PACE organizations in PACE history.

  • Personally involved in detailed aspects of facility design and constructions. Built PACE Centers that were recognized nationally within the PACE community for their beauty and functionality.
  • Negotiated and closed unique financing deals for PACE Centers that enabled the use of historic tax credits to affordably rehabilitate buildings for use as care facilities.
  • Grew revenue from 0 to 20MM in three years. Assembled a multidisciplinary team of over 200 FTE. Managed from 1 to 10 direct reports, including clinical and administrative directors.
