Project: Integrated Design and Inventory System (IDIS) / CANOPI
Client: Confidential, Atlanta, GA, USA
May 2009 - Present

Project Description
IDIS accepts OEM (Optical Ethernet Metropolitan Area Network) orders from upstream systems (GIOM via EFMS). The order is decomposed into internal suborders (service orders) by ASMS (Amdocs Service Management Suite) and each suborder is submitted to technical design by CRAMER. The technical service design determines the provisioning steps to take as part of service fulfillment. These include posting an order to TIRKS (Trunk Inventory Record Keeping System), purchase and activation requests. IDIS also allows users to perform various automated/manual engineering tasks such as inventorying new equipment, modifying existing equipment state, etc. These tasks are initiated and carried out in CRAMER. Orders in IDIS are decomposed and tracked, allowing users to view the suborders, their state, manual tasks opened against the order and the order history.
CRAMER performs the design/assign functionality and persists the services and the resource inventory. Both logical and physical resource inventory can be viewed in CRAMER. Cramer also provides an E2E federated view of an OEM service, showing the customer ports, port allocations, SP/CE-VLANs and a federated circuit view from TIRKS.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Worked on Service Provisioning using Service Catalog, Task Engine and Delivery Engine for Inter Nodal Links (INL), Customer Nodal Links (CNL), Link Aggregation Group (LAG), PIVOT, Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC), User Network Interface (UNI) and Bearer Circuits (Ethernet, DS3)
  • Designed detailed Test Specifications based on Business Rules to exercise the rules and the various permutations of each rule; including negative and positive testing
  • Prepared the test plans, Designed and executed the test cases.
  • Automated test cases using QTP for the regression testing
  • Defects analysis, tracking and generating reports using the Quality Center and ALM and arranging the RCA meetings for the production defects.
  • Worked on Migration and Inflight testing in different releases.
  • Provided support for various testing teams in different phases of testing, like CTS triage support, UAT support.
  • Developing SQL scripts for easily monitoring the status of orders and analyzing the errors.
  • Worked with Developers on resolving the defects. Analyzed test results and reported the necessary corrective actions.
  • Participation in the analysis and/or resolution of IT and Business issues.
  • Involved in the Design reviews prepared by the teams.

Tools Used: CRAMER6.4, CRAMER 8.0,CRAMER 9.2, ACTIVOS BPEL, CANOPI GUI, Amdocs ASMS, Weblogic 8.1,TIRKS, Oracle 10g, Internet Explorer 7.0 and TOAD.

In the Phase1 Release 1A, Qwest's legacy application named INTEGRATOR is going to be replaced with a Next Generation COTS Inventory Management and Provisioning System CRAMER.

Several Interfaces have been implemented with Cramer such as Fault Management interface with Netcool, Activation interface with Syndesis NPA, Order Entry interface with SeRT, Layer1 interface with TIRKS PG and INTEGRATOR interface for Trouble Ticketing. This includes Data Migration from INTEGRATOR to CRAMER and Data Replication from CRAMER database to INTEGRATOR database. Various Inventory Objects such as Locations, Devices, Cards, Circuits, Links, Topologies, Numbers, Phonebooks, Contacts, Customers, Services etc have been modeled in Cramer. Naming conventions for all these objects have been implemented.

Project: 21 CN - Logical Inventory Management System (LIMS)
Client : Confidential, UK
Jan 2007 - July 2008

Project Description:
LIMS - The logical inventory management system is a key system for BT and is vital to the successful operation of the 'lead-to-cash, 'trouble-to-repair' and 'concept-to-market' E2E processes for any services delivered over the Wholesale network.
A key goal of LIMS is to create a step change in the timescales and costs associating with launching new products or technologies. This is achieved through the use of re-usable capabilities developed in a way that maximizes the cost advantages of using a COTS product.
LIMS provides a simplified view of BT network inventory, deployed and planned, as well as an understanding of how that inventory is utilized across multiple services, by using the Cramer. It consolidates data from multiple data sources into a single database. This significantly simplifies the provisioning process. All the changes to BT legacy systems collectively should help BT reduce the number of people involved in provision processes for products migrated to LIMS by 50%. In future the system will be used for Fault Management, Planning, and Capacity Management etc.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Functional and Business Requirements Analysis to map the Cramer Inventory management system's functionality to the Actual Business Requirements.
  • Checking the necessary attributes required for LIMS to process the order from OneSiebel.
  • Checking the service catalog created correctly for the respective product and created the correct task engine templates for each and every stage of the order flow.
  • While progressing the orders, verified tasks and jobs created by Task engine and Delivery engine, corresponding inventory establishment for particular task.
  • Updating of respective jobs and tasks and corresponding updates at the database side in the respective tables.
  • Checking functionalities of the different tabs in the resource browser like Projects/Design Records, Service order, Locations, Devices etc.
  • Tracking of the order flow at each and every stage through Cramer and finding out the discrepancies in the flow and analyzing the things.
  • Preparation of the Test Plans.
  • Building the team and Rationing the work
  • Reviewing the Test Cases and preparation of Query Register.
  • Defect Entry and Track till closure through Quality Center.
  • Involved in CST, CIT and IVVT.
  • Fault Analysis for IVVT.
  • Preparation of Automation scripts.
  • Participation in client conference calls.
