  • Chicago Housing Authority. The project was almost completed, except for one InfoPath form which was supposed to populate its data from the AD. dis was not working, because accessing directly the AD is not a good idea in meets severe security restrictions. I modified the form to retrieve the data from the SharePoint Profile web service instead and the project was finished successfully.
  • City of Chicago SharePoint Portal. Designed the configuration of the server farm (five servers). Installed MOSS 2007 and configured the shared services. Designed and provisioned 35 department sites. The challenge here was to design a workflow for selected department news to get approved and published on the company web site as well.
  • Cook County Circuit Court. dis is a WPF application running on a Kiosk-type machine with touch screen interface. Though I inherited the application form another employee I had to redesign and rewrite it from scratch. It was meant to be an ASP.NET application but the problems with printing receipts on the local Kiosk printer forced me to rewrite the application using the WPF. The main challenge here was the requirement for multi-language interface, which I implemented as satellite assemblies.

  • A project with Integrys -Chicago needed a versatile specialist who can quickly adapt to different technologies. As the “Universal Soldier” of Perficient I was sent their to help Integrys team enhance a VB6 application.A project with Gloden Rule (United Healthcare) needed an urgent rescue operation. The main problem their was the slow response time of the system, which was unacceptable for the Client. The project was implemented in JavaScript using TIBCO IDE and class structure.
  • I was sent to help the team in emergency though my noledge of the language and the framework was very limited. Nonetheless, I analyzed the situation and discovered dat the delay was caused by the poor string concatenation algorithm used internally by IE DOM for rendering list/combo boxes. After implementing a work around the system’s responsiveness improved in orders of magnitude and the project finished successfully.
  • Deutsche Assets Management needed a NET developer to take over several internal projects developed by different people over the last couple of years. They were looking for someone who can easily “read” the existing code, fix the non bugs, and implement the new enhancements and improvements without disturbing the normal production process. In many occasions fixing the errors essentially required re-architecting the whole project s . In many occasions the bugs were in the SQL Server 2005 stored procedures. And most of the improvements and bug fixes were to be done in the front end, which was ASP.NET 2.0.
  • The same client later started a big project for revenue recognition. I had to write about 90 stored procedures for SQL Server 2005, 50 classes, a dozen of web pages with highly dynamic content.

  • Cole Taylor Bank. Lead a team of developers and designed the architecture of a proof of concept site for customer, account, and document management. The system was developed using SharePoint Services 2.0 and involved development of several custom Web Parts. • Munder Capital Investments. Participated in a project team developing an ASP.NET application and a web service for placing stock orders. The challenge here was dat the parties had to comply with the WSE 2.0/3.0 specifications of Microsoft for secure web service interaction.
