Responsibilities:

  • Migrated Confidential ’s SPAAD database into the KDM iGlass PPDM data model. Migration included 165 million points of international navigation data, 1.2 million lines, 10k 3d surveys, 5+ million tapes, documents, sections, maps and contract data.
  • Created and maintained custom database objects (triggers, procedures, packages, queues, tables and views) to support the iGlass database and any custom client requirements as needed. Implemented PPDM Well module API and associated package. Promoted database changes through the various database environments, development and quality assurance to production deploys which often involved out of hours work to cover KDM global presence.
  • Responsible for constructing the Oracle SDO GEOMETRY objects for consumption by various KDM map services. Using KDM legacy code, re-authored the the Katalyst geometry processing package improving the throughput of geometry construction by a factor of 10, additionally the package and was extended to support all EPSG transform types supported by Oracle 11, in addition to some manually created from parameters supplied by the EPSG registry.
  • Evaluated Oracle releases, regression testing on existing known bugs. Deploy Oracle patches and releases as needed and defined by the company’s flagship product iGlass.
  • Design and coding of custom ETL scripts responsible for migration of data from various legacy databases, including OpenRSO, eSearch, Trango. Performed regular refreshes of test and development databases. Created complex SQL queries to handle custom requirements against the IGlass PPDM implemented data model and identified and resolved SQL performance bottlenecks.
  • Created and maintained assorted cron jobs to manage regular database maintenance tasks, including custom reporting, data pumps to clients, database health check reports (space usage etc.).
  • Execute regular requests from both internal and external clients using the Remedy (recently replaced by the RT system) from data modifications and custom functions not handled by iGlass.
