Austin, TexaS
SUMMARY:
- Worked on the initial implementation of the Pegasystems Smart Claims Engine (SCE) framework as a solution for a government agency looking to handle an increasing healthcare claim adjudication backlog. As part of this, I implemented and customized functionality in member searching, authorizations, authorization matching, duplicate claim determination, claim pricing logic and pend management. I also resolved class hierarchy issues related to the SCE framework and implementation layers that allowed for more efficient code inheritance and reuse.
- Implemented and customized the PegaCALL Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) component of a customer service desk application for a healthcare provider. Implemented integration and associated HTTP webservice connector to retrieve IVR call information. Effort included manually constructing XSDs that were not available and resolving installation and environment issues that had stalled the previous development effort for five months prior to my onboarding.
- Developed Pegasystems PegaRULEs applications for large healthcare provider as part of project to replace their legacy claims management and inventory system. Applications included command center administrative portal and client data inquiry portals. In one application, after mainframe changes forced a redesign of the 4 supporting services three weeks before delivery to test, I was responsible for the redesign and implementation of over 100 properties from the back - end Integration classes, the conversion activities to port the data to the front-end data classes (providing a layer of abstraction) and ultimately to the properties referenced within the sections. Used soapUI application to validate the WSDL requests and responses for both the payloads and base messages for property mapping in 5 different services. My contributions directly resulted in a first pass Functional System Test pass rate of 100% and efforts were lauded by both the Tech Arch lead and senior project managers at successful completion of Performance Test.
- Created reports management component for a state government social services web application using PL SQL and Oracle Report Builder. Created the associated JSP interface and controller.
- Implemented batch processing components using PL SQL for a publication and mail routing and tracking web application used by a government client involved in bulk mail delivery.
- Designed and created webflows using Spring framework for a federal contract tracking and management web application. Also created pages associated with file storage and retrieval using JSP and MVC.
- Designed and created page components related to shipment and tracking for a federal government intranet application using a company created development framework based on Spring MVC. I designed and implemented several controllers and views related to tracking and routing.
- Proposed and managed the implementation of the Cisco AVVID phone system as a replacement to an aging AT&T PBX system. This solution not only replaced the PBX but upgraded the infrastructure and security of the existing data network. This was accomplished at one third the cost of replacing only the PBX with a newer PBX system, a savings of $90,000.
- Designed and established secure VPN access to internal corporate network allowing offsite Project Managers and Engineers secure access to company resources while at remote project locations.
- Devised and installed a comprehensive business continuity program including Checkpoint® firewall upgrades, implementing automated server and network backups, enterprise-wide virus protection, and offsite storage of all business critical electronic records and data.
- Assumed management of a network for a computer training company experiencing excessive slowdowns, timeouts and connection losses at random times throughout the workday. Redesigned the network and implemented those revisions, eliminating all congestion on the internal network.
