Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for data availability, integrity, consistency, and performance of all critical databases for the organization
  • Work with developers to identify and tune poorly performing queries.
  • Tune Transact-SQL code, SQL Server configurations, and operating systems for optimal performance.
  • Automation and standardization of SQL Server environment to operationalize repetitive tasks.
  • Built SSIS packages for our ETL process from our transactional database into our historical database. Also our SSIS packages would extract our data and we would ship it off to a variety of vendors depending how they want the data. It could be in excel, or a flat file.
  • Converted all DTS packages over to SSIS which mainly had to do with running data manipulations for the daily management report suite.
  • Architect systems for disaster recovery and high availability including mirroring and clustering technologies.
  • Replicated the web site data that we are capturing (online appointments, website complaints, membership information) and pushed it to our data warehouse so we can build historical reports on the information without taxing our website.
  • Built the inventory and PA module in .NET C#. The inventory module showed facilities counts of products sold and remaining products. The PA module was to harvest web site complaints and forward it to our patient advocacy team which they can log on how they address the original complaint.
  • Developed management dashboards, and converted excel spreadsheets into Tableau. Now management can click on an interface that shows their entire network performance and financial history rather than clicking many different reports, and running their own macros, queries, etc.
  • Developed an ETL process to load client insurance information from a variety of providers. This data was sent to us nightly and we digested the data into our system, each provider’s data was different so the solution had to be versatile.
  • Introduced partitioned tables into our environment, this allowed many our queries and stored procedures to run faster. We have a nightly process that digests all transactional detail from our other databases into our data warehouse. It usually took without errors six hours to complete, currently it's tracking at less than an hour now.
