Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain IMS mainframe databases across all of Confidential ’s corporate mainframe platforms for the Connecticut, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, and California Blue Cross and Blue Shield systems.
  • Served as the IMS DBMS resource for the in-house and contracted IMS application programmers while performing the traditional functions of defining/maintaining and generation of the IMS DB control blocks (PSB, ACB) the IMS database definitions (DBD) as well as creation and maintenance of both online and batch transactions.
  • Worked on several successful database migration projects to move the Confidential East, New York, and Georgia Blue Cross/Blue Shield IMS databases to the National based systems maintained on the California platform.
  • Provided tech support to the application staff regarding IMS and DB2 issues and problems.
