Role: Sybase Lead Developer

  • The current MSG infrastructure is running on Sybase 12.5.4 software which has reached an 'End-of-Life' state as a result vendor support from Sybase is n longer available. If a production environment issue relating t the Sybase v.12 software were t arise, immediate support from Sybase would not be available. The enterprise would need t contract out a custom support solution which would cause service delays and require funding.
  • Upgrading the Sybase infrastructure t version 15.5 puts the enterprise back ont a vendor support solution that accompanies the software license. The project seeks t acquire new server hardware with more efficient processors, increased CPU power, and enough capacity t support future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Impact Analysis and Design document for changes required in the code on migrating t v.15.5. Remediate the identified issues in stored procedures and batch jobs
  • Migrated operating system from Sun Solaris 5.9 t RHEL 2.6, X86-84
  • Develop, test and Identify Stored procedures, triggers, complex queries and other DB objects with post-migration/upgrade issues in test environments
