Cognos BI Framework Manager and Report Studi Developer:

  • Performed in many roles as part of the business-facing Data Management group responsible for managing and delivering the Mortgage Services Data Warehouse MSDW , as well as, several operational reporting environments. My overall goal was t put reporting in the hands of the customer internal business user while enforcing the benevolent controls provided by Cognos 8 Framework Manager t avoid negative impact t the overall data warehouse environment.
  • Framework Administrator: As a member of Data Management and the broader, data warehouse delivery team, I created the initial Cognos 8 framework over MSDW using Framework Manager and maintained the framework and packages through successive phases of the project.   • Quality Delivery Data Warehouse QDDW : QDDW supports internal Technology and Services defect reporting Help Desk ticket statistics .   • Credit Risk Analytical Reporting: Project Manager for enhancement of the Household Retail Services Corporate Data Warehouse DW t enable Credit Risk reporting. The tasks were t convert the back-end database from Novell Oracle t MVS DB2 5.1 and make the necessary adjustments t the Power Builder front-end. I developed the project plan tasks , oversaw a programmer in testing DB2 stored procedures and SQL, and made the programming changes t the Power Builder application myself.

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan: Took over a failing project t replace a service provided by Merrill Lynch with an in-house system and turned it int a success. The homegrown architecture was Visual Basic 5.0 against multi-user MS Access. The business required a vehicle t record purchases and sales of employee-owned stock, calculate dividends, track vesting dates, and print employee statements. I redesigned the existing MS Access database for greater efficiency and rewrote the database access procedures and functions in Dynasets t replace static Data Controls. Wrote reports in Crystal Reports as requested by the user.
  • Human Resources Data Mart: As part of project team, designed DB2 database t hold HR data pulled from IDMS system of record. The purpose of this project was t provide a client/server reporting environment for end-users where a mainframe-based HR data store could be queried and reported on from PC-based tools via ODBC.
