  • Design, create and maintain a new GIS website utilizing Dreamweaver CS5, Flash Builder 4, and ArcGIS API for Flex on a Windows ArcGIS 10 Server.
  • Worked with numerous vendors to secure data and imagery. Saved the Borough over 400K in imagery for the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska Grant, designed to assess the Tundra damage from Oil and Gas activities utilizing ERDAS Imagine Remote Sensing software. Proficient in Flash Builder, FLEX, ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE, MSSQL 2000/2005/2008, Visual Studio, .NET, ESRI Flex API, Eclipse, Python, Adobe CS5, Actionscript, AIR. Working knowledge of AutoCad, Visual Basic, and COGO.
  • I used the FLEX Viewer to create web map services. One such service was for general information about the 8 Villages of the North Slope which included a WMS feed from the National Weather Service. The Flex application was then coded properly only to reflect the area of interest showing a real-time live feed. This was critical for travelers in a hostile environment. The Flex application also had Operation Layers , which is secured data, such as Parcel and tax information, and Raster/aerial coverages.
  • In each case, all Layers were constructed using ArcGIS Desktop and moved over into an MSD format, then brought into ArcGIS Server as a REST End Point. Once served, then were then coded into the Flex application so that Layers could be turned on/off along with controlling transparency.
  • Other Layers brought in as default Base Maps included Topo, ESRI Aerials, and Aerial Rasters.
  • Additionally, when MSD's were brought into ArcGIS Server, WMS's were created to feed Google Earth, and when applicable KML/KMZ's were utilized for end users who were more comfortable using Google Earth.
  • The U.S. Census, in 2010, sent a team to update their records on the Village population count. The Borough receives funding from the Federal Government based on the population. The initial population came back much lower than expected. Our Assessor went out to each Village and went to door to door and obtained an accurate count. That data was then put in the new dataset, A script was setup to update the count and map generation. As a result, our new correct numbers were accepted in the Appeal. And we saved the Borough 10,000,000.00 per year for the next ten years.
  • I used WMS to provide an interface allowing requests for geographical features across the web using platform-independent calls, such as Operational Layers and Rasters, which end-users cannot edit or spatially analyze.
  • For WFS it is used to interface or online mapping portals like Google Maps return only an image, Cached Mapped Services were used to increase the rendering speed.
